Boooring.
[Well excuse me and my headspace for not being all that interesting? Come on, lighten up.]
No no, that's not it! It's just we're not really doing anything, are we? I'm not getting any customers up here, I can't go out to the country to visit Ursula and I can't even write to my parents back home.
I've been looking at those games you've been looking at too you know. It all seems like a lot of work, do you think you can manage? Even with me helping you it's going to be hard.
[Says the girl who left home at thirteen to start her training.]
But everything is okay now, putting me in a game would be like starting off all over again. There might not be another Osono to offer me a place to stay and to help get the delivery service underway.
[I can worry about the 'where you're staying' part and getting you back on your feet, if you even end up going somewhere.]
Even so! I'll be leaving Tombo and his fantastic flying machine, and Jiji too! There's so much to think about, much more than moving to a town away from home. This is a whole new world...

[Mary shrugs, trying not to sound upset]
You left home when you were thirteen? I went away to school at eleven. Not sure if she'll bother to find me someplace like home. I miss the castle.

Did you really used to live in a castle? Goodness, that sounds like quite the home. I used to live in a wonderful little room over a bakery looking out across the sea.

Oh yes. In Scotland. My school's called Hogwarts, and we learn magic there. Charms is my best subject, Potions is second best.
[Mary's only boasting a little. She'll stop now.]
That sounds really nice. [And it does. Reminds Mary of Ravenclaw Tower, except she didn't have a sea view.]

[Her mother was exceptional at brewing potions, though she's never heard of charms at all. At least not in the magical sense anyway.]
My talent is flying, though someday I wouldn't mind learning how to make potions like my mom.

[You'll have to excuse Mary, she's so happy to be talking to another witch she doesn't share space with that she's kind of forgetting not everyone knows what she's going on about.]
I'm getting better at flying, though sometimes I still get nervous if I go up too high. [She'll just not mention that for her, 'too high' is roughly about twenty feet.]
What kind of potions does your mother make?

I'm sorry miss, but a lot of those terms you're using I'm not really familiar with. I'm sorry... But when it comes to flying you shouldn't be nervous! If you find the proper motivation and inspiration for taking off then flying is lots of fun. [Speaking from experience here.]
As for potions, mom used to make medicines to cure all sorts of things. Potions are her talent like mine is flying I guess.

Sorry! I got carried away. Slytherin and Gryffindor are among two of the Houses we get placed in when we first come to Hogwarts. There's four, the other two being Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. They all value different traits, so there's this enchanted Hat-
[And Mary stops again. Rambling is a bad thing. She turns her attention to the flying.]
Well, we have a game at school that's played on brooms, and it's really exciting, and I'd love to try out for it next term...I suppose that counts as proper motivation? [She grins.]
That's useful, isn't it? We can do the same, but the only one I've learned so far is a general antidote to most poisons.
[She shrugs a little self-consciously, then grins again.] I've got terrible manners. I'm Mary Catherine Malfoy, but you can just call me Mary.

But to look at how far I've come and what I might lose from going somewhere else... [Sigh. She worked so hard to get where she is now. Sure she could work hard all over again, but it's like building a sandcastle only for it to get kicked down again and the only choice being to rebuild it.]

But that's part of the fun, isn't it?

And besides, I can't just leave Osono and the bakery to go off and live somewhere else! I owe her so much, leaving out of the blue just wouldn't be right.
