currently homeless, other than museboxes.

I'm upset by your general lack of selection of teas. Lipton, really? At least you still have your farmers market honey to take some of the good awful processed bite out of it. Go get some more loose leaf tins from your favorite shoppe in-town now that you have this sick day, for gods sake you'll be doing us both a favor. Something in the chai variety if you would.

Who even drinks Lipton. You should be ashamed of yourself.

The feeling is entirely mutual. <3

I am afraid I cannot deny giving an unloved gift or two. However, I meant to say, perhaps you should not be so picky when it comes to your own gifts, Mr. Jane.

Well, all you need is love!

[A small, almost non existent smile.] I'm afraid, I would not be the best person to ask. I prefer coffee, myself. Although, I suspect you already knew that.

Blueberry scones. Circa Christmas, 1976.

And you, Mr. Jane? Does Lipton, top your list?

I am sure they would have been, in 1976. I, unfortunately, was the recipient of said gift, just last year.

[He jots that bit of history down in the mental file he currently had for this man.] I hope, the purchase was worth the effort?

Just as planned. ;)

I suspect not, although, that may be my own wishful thinking. I dared not feed them to anyone outside my garden.

Ah, I can understand your father's feelings, if a bit more than I care to, under those circumstances. 'We learn wisdom from failure much more than from success.' I imagine Linda must have felt the same as well.

LOL, sorry, then!

[personal profile] laroched 2012-01-27 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that is typically what one grows in a garden. [He is amused, but he also knows he's being intentionally vague. He doesn't want Jane making fun of all of his hobbies.]

Samuel Smiles, I believe. And, if I can say, it is interesting that you joined the CBI with that particular view on law enforcement.

Wonderful! All is well in the world, then!

Are you interested in starting a garden, Mr. Jane? Forgive my rudeness, but you do not strike me as an avid gardener. [Oh no. No images for you, Mr. Jane. It might get out that he's planting crocuses soon.]

Ah, yes. Well, I am glad to see that, at least partly, your view has changed over the years.
laroched: (Default)

I'm on late nights, so I totally understand.

[personal profile] laroched 2012-01-27 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
I suspect it would depend on the land, and the worker. [He's not about to fall for such a blatant lie. He'd believe Jane routinely got manicures, but put his own hands in dirt? Of his own volition? Not today.]

I suppose I should be relieved that you do not carry a firearm, as well?

It's an entertaining life~ <3

With the right care and soil, you my be surprised at what you can manage, even here.

Good. Good. I'm glad to hear that. It may make your tenure here rather difficult, I would imagine.
laroched: (Default)

Word. Now if only we could find some pepper... oh wait, there's coffee!

[personal profile] laroched 2012-01-27 10:28 am (UTC)(link)
And I you, Mr. Jane.

I am certain that you can put your mind and efforts into, anything you wish. You grew up in a, traveling carnival, correct? I imagine sharp shooting skills may have been rather valuable in such a trade.

Nectar of the night gods. <3

I must agree. The mark of a wise man is an insatiable thirst for learning.

I see. Were you a fake psychic back then as well? [Somehow, he could see a younger Jane getting away with nearly more than he could now. Innocence of youth and all that.]
laroched: (Default)

\o/ yay coffee. YAY end of shift.

[personal profile] laroched 2012-01-27 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
Is that so?

Ah, perhaps, but I do try not to assume too much about you. It keeps me on my toes, so to speak..

But then how would he live up to his name? The McLatertons are a large famiy.

If you are curious, I would ask the cat. Our minds can only make as many connections as we allow it to.

That is both comforting, and worrisome. Perhaps I should be glad you chose to use your powers for good, as they say?

My vote goes to go home on time & make popcorn to watch the ensuing feud.

[personal profile] laroched 2012-01-27 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. But, curiosity killed the cat, not the dog. I believe, my companion is safe for the moment.

Any particular time you would care to share?
