[ She fishes into her handbag for a handkerchief, dabs it with her tongue, then starts to clean the dirt from the little girl's face. ]

I know it ain't fun, sweetness, but it'll make ya' feel much better. [ she proceeds to wipe away the dirt from the child's face, coming away with a thoroughly dirty handkerchief. ]

We should go find your daddy. He can give a nice, warm bath, put you in your jammies, then read you some stories. Won't that be nice?
