Just looking, I'm sure. S'not as if you've got any real will or energy for these so-called games, you lazy Mundane. And you thinking of putting me there? A whole load of crock, that's what it is. I've been around long enough to know these things.

Why you? 'Should be the other one. It's easier, more appropriate too, since there's less "canon" — or whatever they call it — material on you.

I'd agree with that and that's probably why the Mundane's hesitating. [He shrugs. He feels like a smoke suddenly and he starts digging around for his pipe. Where is that...] She's just taken with this "steampunk" idea, 'thinks my clothes or whatever fit. She also fiddled with the idea of the Empire... [A bit of a smirk. Fiddling with the Empire. Hah.]

[ He fails to see the humor, but that's generally how he can best be summed up these days. ]

You don't fit— you're a good couple centuries away from what steampunk is. I get that it's not a long time to us, maybe, but she's human and should be to her.

[ He sighs, sounding irritated, and runs a hand through his hair with what can probably best be described as frustration. He's not really frustrated about the conversation though; 'more like about the fact that he's here at all. ]

The Empire fits, in that case, but I wasn't talking about him either.

'Never said there's rhyme or reason to her thoughts. I just live in 'er 'ead. [Ah, found it. He purses the pipe between his lips and then starts fumbling for matches. He barely pays any mind to the other's obvious irritation.]

You're talking about that one. Yes, I know...

[ He expected, honestly, to be scolded for his obnoxious remarks, and the fact that he doesn't get them almost makes him feel uncomfortable. It further drives home the fact that his only knowledge of this man are from the faded, fogged memories of a child and history books. America says nothing for a long while, just letting the pirate smoke in peace. Then... ]

Well, whatever. Have a good time and stuff. Don't tell the kid.

[He smokes and lets America just hang about as he contentedly enjoys his pipe. Scolding? This America isn't his to scold. He can ran amuck if he wants to. He'll pretty much do what he wants anyway, so what would be the point? If he wants to be an ass then so be it. England can be an ass too.]

[Green eyes shift to America as he speaks again.] Don't tell the kid what? And which kid?

[He tries not to flinch and frown at the French. He's lucky not to have encountered the Frog himself yet. Or so he thinks.]

It would seem you were wishing to find a home, non? But what if you find said home and you do not like it?

I have a home.

[His Mundane's head and he finds it unobjectionable for the most part. Except for the infestation of Spaniards and Frogs...]

And I have seen some of those places.

[They're quite exciting, really, if not for the fact that you'd have to be snatched from home to be in them with hardly any way to get back.]

It's not all that bad there. [She smiles.] I've had quite a bit of fun since going.

Not much of a fan of going to strange places that aren't home?

I don't mind the strange places, but I'd rather know that at the end, I can see myself back to my own shores if I wanted to.

Well, we've been to Neverland and a western sort of city aside from the library itself. I'm sure that at one point we'll turn up in a story near resembling your shores if not the exact ones.

Neverland, you say? [That's a bit later from his time, but he's been looking around.] Still not the same...

No, maybe not. I haven't seen anything like my home yet either. But everyone helps with passing the time.

My lord. [a polite nod of her head.] Mundanes will do as mundanes will do. I think they are probably capable of being tamed as you are. [a polite smile]

[Her words make him smile then smirk before he sweeps into a most gallant bow with full flourish.]

Tamed, your Majesty? You believe me tamed?

No, I believe you completely untameable, nor would I wish you to be. [Her smiles a little more earnest now, and since he was her equal in all things, she curtsied back at him, like she would to another Prince.]

[She honors him, really, and the smile softens once more as he rises.]

I've seen my future and the Fates aren't so kind, but for now, I shall do my best to be as you want me to be.

What I want is for you to be happy. Perhaps you will find happiness there also, despite the nature of it?

[There's a happy look from her, she did always enjoy his company after all.]

I know not what my Mundane plans. She's not really known for being able to stay for a long time in places such as that. She's a fickle one, my Mundane.
