Huh so this is what a real demon looks like? Can't say I'm as awed as I thought I'd be.

The violet lips release melodious laughter.

"Darling, Pride and Rage are certainly beings one may be impressed by. And poor sloth waits for his victims, resting, but he is no less engaging. I am here merely for entertainment, for pleasure, to meet Desires, large or small. We all have Desires, wishes, and needs that we would like to have fulfilled."

"And then you feed on the results," He added plainly. This was sounding familiar really and it was occurring more and more to him why his species got compared to real demons if they even existed in his world. Still he sensed some other difference.

"Though you should know that won't work very well on me and I'd really recommend you didn't try."

"If sustenance may be found in the joy of giving and meeting those in need, whether it be a need to have a cloak to provide warmth, to have a full belly, or to sleep safely...I suppose you may be correct. But do not other beings experience this same lifting of spirit - this buoyancy? Why will granting your wishes not give this same feeling?"

A chiming step taken forward. "What kind of being must you be then?"

"Because unlike my kind I think you take a little more than just sustenance from people when you feed into their desires."

He didn't take a step back but he's not exactly comfortable with this either. "I'm an Abian," Marctavious said simply.

"If you want to know more ask me specific questions and I might answer you. I'll tell you right now I'm not giving you all the answers."

Laughter again, "Of course not, my darling, there would be no fun to be had if you gave everything for free. You are an Abian. You eat humans somehow and you believe me to be greedy...or Hunger...which I am not, as he is my brother."

"Not exactly Greedy, I just think there is more to what you do to humans than feed into their desires," His tone wasn't accusatory just matter-of-fact.

"You are correct," the purple arms cross. Glossy talons wrap around her forearms, "If I were to possess someone - a willing subject - I might experience the world through their eyes, I could learn of it, I could examine the emotions the human feels. However, unlike my sisters, I prefer to experience it for myself."

"But let me guess, without mortals it's difficult if not impossible to experience things as they do. Correct?" This was starting to sound rather familiar.

[desire_demon]

"This is so, as I am not human - I choose this difference. My brothers and sisters do not even know that this choice exists, it is as if they were driven only to consume, to live their narrow existence as they always have." The violet gaze is steady, "I Desire to become more than a simple selfish creature. In doing so, I have broken with my sisters."

Oddly enough this is very similar to what Marctavious did himself xD

"Believe it or not you're not the only one who has made this choice." His posture becomes more comfortable and he smiles.

"It isn't exactly an easy road though," He gestured to his back where he had one scaled wing and then another that was clearly a stub.

"If we were in a more influential place I might lead you in the right direction."

Re: Desire as herself.

The horns tilt again in acknowledgement and she offers almost hesitantly, "As I must have gain someone's trust to be released, I admittedly already have a master...one who encourages and allows my exploration." Extending her hand, the demon turns her wrist showing a gem embedded there, one the color of blood. "There are certain precautions... However, it does not preclude seeking other counsel or advice."

"Being a servant doesn't sound all that good either. At least in my opinion."

He looked at the gem curiously though he didn't know what to make of it. "What is this exactly?" Not being an actual demon himself he knew nothing of magic like that.

"Restraint...fetters against feeding inappropriately. You might call it a safety net should I be overly tempted." Desire shrugs, a nearly unnatural movement, one copied from observing human behavior, "I am not disappointed in my role. The exchange is fair."

"Though I suppose if you were free of your hunger it wouldn't really matter what you did, would it?" He sounded curious, after all he had wanted to get more of his own kind to seek out what would make them free from their hunger.
