The Chantry is not the source of anything! Grand Cleric Elthina would not allow for such to carry out as they do in Tevinter. Children are not slain for blood magic and not punished for those actions, for one. So you cannot compare Kirkwall to that of Tevinter. We are nothing alike!

I call it keeping them safe. There are families that would kill a child when they become aware that child is a mage. It is protecting them from themselves and the world. We are not as heartless as you might think, Anders. I may not be one who looks after those in the Circle, but I can understand that they need to be cared for lest they face a terrible life.
