What one gets by, as you call it, looking for excuses is a way to stay sane. And trust me on this, I've seen where Bruce ended up. Unless you want to end your life as a grumpy, sadistic old coot sitting up in his mansion on a hill all alone, refusing to talk to anyone who you might have known once upon a time for years at a time and apparently staring at the wall all day because you sure don't have anything else left to do, you're gonna need to find a little more balance than that.

What we do is important, but it can't be your entire life. Not quite. You need to get out, to remember what you're fighting for, and the reasons for it. And you've got to be able to live.

I am his son. If I am unneeded, maybe I will end that way. And that is assuming that there is even a chance for sanity, for a scion of Ra's al Ghul. I strongly suspect that would be a vain... expectation.

And this is better at being my entire life than conquering the world. I am already wasting my potential, objectively.

Actually, I can also claim having been trained to become him since infancy. A can claim being able to recognize him by the way he moves, without even seeing his face, in a room full of people. I can claim a lot of things.

You got a point with all of this? Being able to recognize someone at a distance doesn't mean you know them.

What you've been trained to become isn't the old man, it's what someone thought he was. If you want to get to know him, the real him, you can't keep trying to be perfect at being what you've been taught to be. Because that's not all there is.
