Yet I seem to remember a moment when you paused, and did just that. It might not have been a large sacrifice of spark such as the one you derailed, but you did sacrifice some effort to save someone else.

And why are you assuming your life would be forfeit? You already changed the course of things, do you truly believe that if things had gone as desired that you'd necessarily have to sacrifice your life?

[that might still be what would have happened, but despite that dimension not being gone, due to outside factors he can no longer tell what was supposed to happen... or at least intended to.]
