What little expression might be inferred from the cowl is neutral, and his posture is still and poised.]

It did not exceed expectations, but fulfilled them in rather conflicting ways.

That twist with that girl at the end seemed a little unnecessary.

Simple ends require simple beginnings. Happy endings are hardly possible through depth.

Too true, Talia my dear. The knowledge makes it no less repulsive. There is an art to simplicity, but I fear this is not it.

Few attempts at such an art could hope to meet your expectations, father. Though such is hardly an excuse for making a grasp at the lowest hanging fruit rather than a true striving for greatness.

Take some small comfort in that your writer fails to find humor in your reinvention. My new dealings with Bane are a source of no small amount of twisted amusement for mine.
