I'm flattered, really I am. Even if not being "as boring as people think [I am]" is a fairly backhanded compliment. But you know as well as I do that you have prior commitments. Responsibilities. Other characters who need you. Look, I'm pretty familiar with the concept of dividing your time between lives. But there's a balance. You're spread pretty thin as it is, and I can't help but think I'm just the new kid. You don't want to burn those bridges. If it's meant to be, I'll still be here, right?

Oh, and by the way? I'm not sure filling the same niche as Jim Kirk "except he's a virgin" really hits on the crux of the distinction between us. I know it was a joke, but it's pretty crass. I think the good captain agrees with me.
