No señorita, I do not find the username you seem to have chosen for me funny in the slightest. Just because I have made a few mistakes in my life does not mean I do so constantly. You just choose to focus on those few mistakes.

The icons are appreciated though of course, you didn't make those. Make jokes about my efficacy all you want, but at least I'm not lazy.

[Smirks at username.]

They must be memorable mistakes.

[And a shrug.]

At least your icons are actually you. I don't "officially exist", so I get a "played-by" who sort-of kind-of looks like me.
winter_raven: (be my guest)

I'm not saying they don't. Lord knows I've made enough of them. And anyone who was really a constant fuck up would be either dead or in jail or something, right? Don't see a prison tat, and you're walking and talking, so....

[She looks at him curiously.]

What'd you do that made her think of the name, anyway, señor?
winter_raven: (wait what)

[personal profile] winter_raven 2012-07-19 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Powerful friends? [She double-checks that canon tag.] Don't happen to know the State Minister of Luxembourg, do you?

[Since you seem less-crazy than the one friend of his she's met so far.]

Amusing is good. You can have the name ironically, right? Mine's pretty straight-forward.
winter_raven: (I'm listening)

[personal profile] winter_raven 2012-07-19 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Watch her face fall just a little about that.]

How is it you know about him but don't know him? You aren't a paparazzo or something, are you?

[Smirk.]

You aren't hipster. There's enough hipster at my university that I can tell that.
winter_raven: (suspicious)

[personal profile] winter_raven 2012-07-19 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Muckraking kind of puts journalistic integrity into question though, doesn't it? Someone writes a BS sensationalist story on me or my father, and they'll find themselves in trouble faster than you can say call out the guard.

What kind of a sort?
unreadability: (through the dust and dirt)

[personal profile] unreadability 2012-07-19 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
To err is human, to forgive divine.
winter_raven: (uh are you serious?)

[personal profile] winter_raven 2012-07-19 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
So, like a blogger. You, what, scour the internet and tabloids for weird things?

I dunno. Do the people deserve to know all your dirty laundry? Politicians are people first. They do stupid things, just like anyone else. And all the stupid scandal coverage sort of overshadows the actual issues. Who cares what the guy's views on the economy are when he's been caught banging a hooker? [Eyeroll.]

They're letting everyone in these days, it seems.

In reverse, one must hope you capable of moving beyond your own shortcomings. By forgiving hers.
winter_raven: (definitely interested)

Old school journalist. [She nods at that. Kind of nice, actually.] Looking up stuff in physical archives instead of online ones. If you're in the States, you'd be the one making use of the Freedom of Information Act, I'm guessing, instead of hacking to find stuff out.

[And now you've got her interest.]

Serious old school journalist. That is serious shit. You'd have been all over that stuff in the 80s, then, with the US and the Middle East and all.
population_ctrl: (come at me)

[personal profile] population_ctrl 2012-07-19 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Come now. All places need standards.
winter_raven: (I'm intrigued)

[personal profile] winter_raven 2012-07-19 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It's useful when it works. You hear stories every once in a while about it not working like it's supposed to. But that's bureaucracy, isn't it?

With the US? Interfering in the Middle East? I'd never have guessed. [Lots of sarcasm there.]

It's affecting import tariffs, and it's only gonna be worse when it's time to reevaluate taxes on sand and certain oils in the fall. [Eyeroll.] Of course it comes on my watch.
population_ctrl: (what you need to remember)

Spreading lies is an unfortunate standard, Monsieur.
