Homeless, likely forever. Voice testing anyway.

It was only a matter of time for you, wasn't it? I think it would do you well to remember the last time you got tangled up with a bender. A lot of people got burned, as they say.

I'm an entirely different animal, and I'm not about to be crammed into of these pits of misery you so enjoy. You got the name, you got the images, you got the set up--but was any of it really necessary? No.

Go play with your other toys. I pull the strings on my own destiny now... for what it's worth, I was my own man--in the end.

Well, this is unexpected. Perhaps your mundane won't send you somewhere entirely awful.

Either a city full of superpowered individuals, or the sort of game my mundane refers to as "AU", filled with superpowered teenagers. Truth be told, I think the school full of teenagers is the more troublesome choice.

Better one of those than "survival horror", or one where "crack events" are frequent. I'll take a second chance at politics over spending all of my time running for my life, or worrying about the prospect of being spontaneously transformed into a woman.

We really would. There are some experiences I'm quite content to do without, though. I'm glad that my mundane is intent on preserving at least some semblance of my dignity.

Therein lies the one advantage of that AU situation at the school. That unfortunate incident with the Avatar will have never happened.

[Yakone: Father of the Year. Only not.]

While I have no doubt many of them will be exactly like that, people born with bending and other powers are a rather small minority in this world. Such abilities have only existed within the most recent generations, and thus are not well understood. There may be a few children who know all about hardship.

An excellent point. But then, I expected nothing less.
