Are you now? I must say, in my realm most of the old ways have been lost to us, including magic. I had yet to meet a competent mage until now and even so, I do believe that "twig" you have shan't do.

[ He's eying that alleged "wand" with some skepticism here. Real mages and wizards don't need such silly tools to perform magic or so he believes. ]

Then a blade you should have! I'm certainly fond of swords myself. Between my brothers and I; I was always the best at sword-fighting.

[ Saying this, he slots the silly little thing into his back pocket and folds his arms; he himself is of the same philosophy - powerful mages need only their wits and their will. ]

Eheheh, ah it has been some time since I've felt the pommel of a sword. I'm more a man of daggers and throwing knives. Perhaps just as deadly; such little things are so easy to conceal.

True enough, I suppose. That wand of yours is best suited as kindling and barely that.

I cannot say I favored magic much but I certainly know blades quite well. Every Brother of the Black carries both a sword and dagger to ensure our survival beyond the Wall. It's necessary to keep such concealed items on your person in order to surprise your enemy.
