I was just putting on make-up and dressing like it said I should in the magazine. It's not like I was playing with matches.

I didn't say I was trying to impress anyone! [Clark is down there listening, she can't say anything.] I just wanted to see if it made me look grown up.

Being grown-up is nice and you do get to dress how you want, but its a lot more difficult than it seems.

It is difficult in a different way. That comes with experience. And boys don't get any easier to understand when you are older.

Well, let's see... you can try talking about things that he likes. Maybe ask him to teach you something he likes. It will get him talking and give him a chance to see you as someone he can spend time with.

There you go. It helps to be friends first. Besides if they only pay attention to you because of how you look or what makeup you where, then they aren't really that good of friends.

Well, of course it's exaggerated, but it's still right. Disagreeing with your parents is normal, I guess. They think they know everything, but they just don't get it sometimes, you know? Like they don't remember being our age.
