Well, it's been a while hasn't it? I'm not entirely sure I'm pleased with coming out but I suppose I don't really have much of a choice in the matter.

I swear though if you're just going to keep me around as a fair weather muse I'm not going to be pleased. You know my policy so start looking for a place for me to stay. If you doom me to a life of museboxes the things I will do to you will be unimaginable. I'd prefer a game with Hiro in it as I long for entertainment, but something tells me you aren't listening anyway. Somehow I'm not surprised.

Of all the faces I expected on seeing yours is quite the surprise. [Unexpected is right. He's just going to look you over, it's been quite some time since he's seen a Peter.]

That would make two of us. [kinda gives him a nudge. Okay, so he's really there]

[That gets a quirk of an eyebrow from Adam. But he tries not to think much on it. He shakes his head, thinking of what to say for a moment before settling on idle small talk.]

So. It's been a while, hasn't it?

[They hadn't entirely left on good circumstances now had they. Idle small talk seemed like the safest of all options but Adam remained on edge. Just in-case.]

I haven't seen you since you manipulated me into letting you almost kill billions of people.

[not that he's bitter about it or anything]

That was always your problem Peter. You always failed to see the bigger picture.

[There doesn't seem to be a hint of regret in his voice. Perhaps a small part of him felt some sort of inkling of remorse for taking advantage of the naivety of Peter, but Adam was too old for regrets. He learned long ago that they were a truly needless emotion especially when, as far as he was concerned, he was in the right.]

[spongetastic]

I really don't think that's my problem, Adam.

[the tone is aggressive, but not nearly as much as it would've been even a few months ago. Peter's been through way too much since they saw each other]

The formula's gone anyway, so I guess that ruins your plans.

Oh my goodness, ignore my fail today. It's too hot to function obviously.

I guess it is gone now, isn't it. A shame. But perhaps for the best, it was a bit one sided wasn't it?

[There's a small hint cold of playfulness to his tone. Before he takes in Peter once more, he is different then when they last met. He looks more haggard then when he last saw him.]

So how is that saving the world thing going anyway?

[eyes him a little. Yeah there is something different about Adam. But there's something different about Peter, too]

Oh, you know. A hero's work is never done.

Me too. I haven't played in ages, since the proboards days. But I re-watched recently and missed it.

[living_history]

And isn't that the problem? Nothing you are doing is solving anything is it Peter. For every person you take off the street another arises. So tell me, how is picking them off one by one more efficient?

Peter is secretly lonely without his cast :s

It probably sounds futile to you, but even if it's small, I'm at least trying to make a difference. Besides, I made a promise...

I can understand that. I can understand that hardcore. D:

Perhaps a noble, yet highly foolish, endeavor.

[Promise? Peter is truly something else and Adam nearly forgot that. If he was less hardened he'd almost find it admirable. As it is he only feels pity for the other knowing that one of these days Peter will hit that wall. Or perhaps he wont, perhaps he'll always stay true to his moral value. It's hard to tell with the other.]

It can be pretty exhausting sometimes. But what else am I supposed to do? I'm past the days of laying around doing nothing.

[you know, like he was doing when they met]

Who said you have to sit around doing nothing, but chipping away at the stone with nothing but a hand chisel isn't going to get you very far is it?

[spongetastic]

It's worked so far. Besides, making waves isn't always a good thing. Believe me...

[living_history]

[Frowns at that statement but he keeps quiet for now. Daring not to touch that one.]

Has it really? You hardly look as though it's all working out for you.

[spongetastic]

It's bigger than just me. Things don't always work out for me, but the world is saved. That's what matters.

[yeah basically his life sucks but he's still doing his thing. If he didn't haave this, he'd probably go insane]

Is it truly saved Peter? Answer me this; Who will save it from itself?

[That's always been the case with Adam. He couldn't care less about the physical aspect. It's more the state of the world he is really concerned with.]

[spongetastic]

That again. You going to be more honest about your plans this time?

[living_history]

It will always be that Peter. That fact doesn't just disappear. It hasn't for centuries.

Perhaps. You're already well aware on my views now.

[spongetastic]

And it'll probably get worse before it gets better. Yeah, I know.

[living_history]

So what would you do that information anyway?

[spongetastic]

Whatever I needed to do.

[living_history]

Perhaps one of these days you'll figure it out. Until that day comes, I think I'll keep my thoughts to myself.

[he shrugs] I think I've had enough of other people's thoughts for a while, actually.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. After all, I have all the time in the world to wait for the perfect moment.
