Looking at Fear Itself again.

Can we stop highlighting the low points of my life? I wouldn't mind forgetting, but you don't know when to stop. Resilient was a good place. Things were better. Not great, but better.

No, I don't want to weigh out which war was worse, but if you're making me choose, I'll stick with the one I've got.

Asking which war you lived through was worse seems a bit rude, if we're being frank. Don't listen to her.

It'll be fine in the end you'll see. Will probably hurt some friendships, but they will mend in time.

Sometimes there's no choice. There is worse. Losing is worse. Dying without fighting is worse. We do what we have to do.

Calling it like you see it. Right. That's easy to say if you get to shape how you see it.

So what's the right answer?

If I have learned anything, Mr. Stark, is that you cannot look to the past for your answers. My words may stir your heart, but they were not written for your troubles.

There are good reasons. Principles. People. But at the end of the day? Sometimes it really is easier to forget.

I wish I could shape what I see. Millions of moments to weed through at once and hope that I follow the thread the right way. You get to shape it... I try to guide it so that there is always one.

You'd be amazed by what you can forget when you try hard enough. People change, and if there are things we don't like, we change them. Our environment, our minds... It's all relative to what we want.

That's what you get for being anal about our futures. Gods or whoever else, we don't need anyone breathing down our necks to do what needs doing. We've got it. That's why heroes are around.

You also don't see things like I do. Though, out of everyone on the planet you might come close. Just not as many branches of the future as I can
