I'm definitely flattered you want to try for this, but are you sure you're up for it? Not that I'm doubting your, you know... roleplaying... skills - wow that is weird to think about - but this is me we're talking about here.

Besides, I don't have time for games. Superhero duty, remember? I'm sure Rhodey and Pepper could handle things for a while, but in case you've forgotten, if they get banged up I wouldn't be there to repair their suits.

Actually, in between waiting for crimes to occur, you'd be surprised how much time you have. I personally like bubble shooter for passing the time, but if I had an iPhone, I'd definitely be going with cut the rope.

Yeah, not exactly the kind of games I meant, but thanks. I'm more of a solitaire kind of guy anyway.

Old school, I getcha. I can definitely get behind a good game of solitaire.

Err, uh, well.... yeah, I'm a cop. [ He glances down at himself, then back up at Tony. ] Er, in training. I'm training to be a cop.

Riiiight. And I keep getting told I'm a bad liar.

No, no, it's cool. You're totally a cop. A cop who plays bubble shooter while waiting for crime to happen.

Cop in training. There's less for us to do, y'know.

Of course. So, municipal? County? State?

Municipal. NYPD. Uh, Queens borough.

Yeah? Maybe I'll see you around once you're on the job.

Yep, if you're ever out in Queens. You definitely will. [ Or the rest of Manhattan. Or really anywhere in the world, as long as you own some sort of television, Tony. ]

[It's a shame Spider-man is never introduced in this Tony's off-shoot universe. That would probably be entertaining.]

I swing by there occasionally, so we'll just have to wait and see if we catch each other.

[ Oh well, that's what cross-overs are for. Marvel seems to have a knack for holding meetings between universes. ]

Swing by. [ He chuckles, then realises he's probably the only one who gets the irony of that. If there's any irony in that. It just might be Peter being a loser. He coughs. ] Guess we will, uh, sorry, I didn't catch your name... ?

I swear I usually remember at least that much of my manners. The name's Tony. Tony Stark.

[He sticks out a hand to shake. They can be losers together!]

[ He just sort of.... stares at him. ]

...riiiight. You're Tony Stark. Okay, yeah, sure.

I'm getting this bizarre feeling you don't believe me for some reason.

[bugboy]

I get this equally weird feeling that you're not kidding.

That would be because I'm not. You know a Tony Stark?

Um, yeah, only he's like, twenty years older than you and kinda a superhero billionaire.

[ironteen]

Sounds like the only difference is the age thing then. I've got the superhero billionaire part down.

[bugboy]

And here was me thinking it was just some really awesome anti-aging cream. [ He furrows his brows, then tilts his head to the side. ]

You kinda look like him. If you squint. [ Righting himself: ] Uh, I'll just suspend my disbelief and introduce myself. I'm Peter Parker, it's nice to meet you, um, [ He reaches forward and grabs the offered hand, shaking it somewhat uncertainly. ] --uh, should I just call you Tony?

[ironteen]

Tony works. I'm only Iron Man when I'm wearing the suit, and Mr. Stark is my dad.

[He just grins and lets his hand drop after the shake.]

Nice to meet you, too, Peter. So... other Tony. How awesome is he? I'm guessing pretty awesome, if he's really me. And you forgot to mention the genius part along with the superhero billionaire part. He is a genius, right? Because otherwise I'm going to have to say you're lying about him.

Right. Tony. Okay. [ brb geeking out he is actually on a first name basis with Tony Stark. Except it's like, Tony Stark: the Teenage Redux but whatever, it's still Tony Stark. ]

He uh, yeah he's a genius. He's definitely a genius and I've always wanted to meet him. You. Him. Uh. [ A glance to the side, then back at Tony. ] He got stuck in Afganistan; kidnapped by terrorists. He freed himself. And the suit and the company and well, yeah. I can't deny he's a genius. [ Off-handedly. ] I dunno if he's any nice though.

[ironteen]

Kidnapped by terrorists? Sounds like his suit had a way cooler beginning than mine did. I just made my suit to show off to my dad, we had an inventing rivalry going on for kicks.

So you're a fan of him, huh? [Tony is doing his best to try and remain all cool and collected, but he is of course failing at least a little.] If he's really me, he's probably a great guy.

[bugboy]

Yeah it was sort of a big deal. Cooler, maybe, but I dunno if you'd really want to go through what he did. Sounded like he had a pretty rough time.

Oh uh, [ His face contorts as he struggles against the stomach-churning awkwardness and tries not to go red. ] --I guess I could say I admired him? Yep, maybe. I dunno. He's done a lot of really cool stuff for charity, but he also sort of sold weapons to terrorists.

[ironteen]

Yeah, that's definitely a thing Stark Industries did in my, uh, universe. Dad stopped making weapons when I was born, but he went missing when I was sixteen and everyone thought he was dead.

[He seems to be either oblivious of or just completely ignoring Peter's awkward.]

Since I was a minor, I couldn't take the company and Stane became the CEO, turning the company back into a weapons dealer in the process.

[bugboy]

That sucks. I guess, um, I can assume they found him? I mean, I hope.

[ Okay this is a parallel universe thing. Peter can roll with that. He relaxes a little. ]

How about now? Are you in control of the company now? That's pretty cool, you're like my age and you're a billionaire. And you built and Iron Man suit, that's totally awesome actually.

[ironteen]

My dad was found and now he's back to being the company's head. Frankly I'm completely fine with that, I don't know if I want that sort of responsibility on me yet. Besides, nothing's stopping me from continuing to build tech for the company. Half the stuff they've produced has been mine anyway.

[bugboy]

Oh well, I guess being the head of a company at your age would be sorta hard anyway. No offense.

[ He laughs and looks down, stuffing his hands in his pockets. ] I'm sure it's all been really awesome. I mean, you're Tony Stark, so it's all gonna be quality stuff. Y'think you could give a budding inventor any pointers? Since I doubt I'm ever going to meet the Iron Man from uh, my universe.

[ironteen]

Pointers? I don't know, I'm not exactly a motivational speaker.

[Tony rubs his chin in thought for a moment. He doesn't normally meet inventors around his age that aren't... you know, trying to kill him or something.]

What sort of inventing are we talking here?

C'mon, Tony. A game might not be that bad. Rhodey and Pepper might even be at wherever you end up.

You know, that sounds good in theory? Until I remember that that means they'd be stuck in a parallel universe created only to watch as many people suffer as possible, too. I think I'd rather they stayed home, if it came down to it.

[The older version of him had felt that way when his Tony had shown up in the game he was in...for about five minutes. It might be selfish but he knew he'd go crazy if Tony wasn't there.]

Yeah, but most of us end up in a game eventually. At least if they're in that jamjar with you, you'll be able to keep them safe instead of them being stuck somewhere without you.

I think I'm going to stay on the fence about whether I'd be happy or not with them showing up wherever I might end up.

Besides, if I were ever "lucky" enough to wind up somewhere other than a few one-time things, my mun seems pretty convinced the chances of them showing up would be really, really low. We're talking the Hulk more likely to take up ballet kinds of low here.

The Other Guy might consider it, with the right motivation. [Steve tries to keep his expression serious but he can't quite fight back a smile. Bruce would probably roll his eyes at him over that comment but the Hulk did seem to like Tony...] If you suggested it...

I haven't seen Rhodey that much. There used to be a Pepper from your canon around here, but I haven't seen her for awhile. I - uh - don't seem to get along with Peppers very well.

If I suggested it? What's that supposed to mean?

[Suspicious Tony is quite suspicious.]

Why don't you get along with them? I mean, it's... Pepper. It's sort of hard not to.

The Other Guy likes you. So does Bruce so if you suggest it...

[He shrugs, the smile turning sheepish. There's no other motives other than wanting to tease a friend.]

Peppers - um - get a little - They get annoyed with me. I seem to try their patience.

I'm thinking this is some timeline divergence at the very least. I haven't really spoken to Dr. Banner more than a few times, and the Hulk's a cool guy, but I'm not exactly getting any special treatment from him.

[The Pepper thing seems to amuse him though.]

Yeah? I guess I could see that. The Pepper I know isn't too big on patience, at least. Try not to take it too hard.
