There's a group of people who have abilities, but they've come across them in different ways. Some of them are aliens who get powers due to exposure to our yellow sun. Others, like Green Lantern, have a magic ring that lets them create things out of the focused green energy of willpower. It's...different. For the most part, though, the people are without superpowers.
