[Sick is right, and Prim won't pretend like it ~~didn't~~ doesn't upset her...

[But when she see's her sister's face, the disturbed, uncomfortable expression she had been wearing only moments ago vanishes. All she can do is stare.]

[The shock has worn off somewhat. This isn't the first time it's happened. That someone has been sick enough to make Prim a piece in their own personal games, in a realm that's far beyond Katniss's reach. There couldn't be anything more disgusting.

But that doesn't mean the impact isn't still the same. The same lump rises in her throat, the one that's the result of a whole complicated mess of emotions from seeing her sister again in this place. Quietly:]

It's me.

[It's a whole new roller coaster for Prim (this Prim, anyway). The last thing she remembers is seeing Katniss-- and it did take a minute for her to realize that it was Katniss, all done up in that Capitol garb- running for her, screaming her name...

[And after that, everything gets blurry...She remembers the second set of parachutes going off, or at least that's what she think must have happened...

[Beyond that, though...

[Oh, but that's enough! A shiver runs down her spine and she closes her eyes tight, shaking her head back and forth, braid swinging wildly as she launches herself into her sister's arms, burying her face in the older girl's bosom.]

Oh, Katniss...

[She can't help but cry. It's been so long since she's seen her sister, and especially after the bombs...she was sure she never would again, not here...]

[There are no comforting words of reassurance that Katniss can offer. She can't tell Prim it's going to be okay. Because it isn't. Because these Gamemakers don't have a face, a representative, a visible rallying point. Because they have the power to dream up so much more than the horrors an arena could provide.

So she offers what she can.

When Prim reaches for her, Katniss wraps her arms around her tightly, protectively. Her own tears begin to fall, even if she's trying her damnedest to hold them back. Trying to stay strong, even in the face of complete hopelessness. She owes Prim this much.

But maybe if her hold is strong enough, they can't pry her away. Maybe she can save her from this....]

[It may seem strange...foolish, even...But Prim's are tears of joy, at least for now...

[Every hell, any hell, is a hell she can suffer with Katniss there...

[And it hasn't really hit her yet that that may not end up being an option...]

[She whips her head around at the sound of his voice, braids flying. She can't help but smile. First her sister and now this?]

[ He can't quite bring himself to smile as easily as Prim does. It's just not coming naturally to him. Once upon a time, it was easy because she was no different to him than Posy, but maybe that's why it's harder now. It's like his little sister died that day.

He kneels down so he's closer to eye-level with her ]

[Her smile falters for a moment. She didn't mean to sound so...grim, but it's true! The last thing she remembers is seeing Katniss through the crowd and then...Well, then the bombs had gone off and...that was that...That was all, or at least it should have been...

[But...she doesn't want to think about that...Not now. Not anymore...

[So she fixes on another smile. It doesn't come as easily as the first one had, but...]

But...you're here, and Katniss is here too! I wonder--

[She hesitates for a moment, teeth worrying at her bottom lip a bit.]

Have you seen my mother anywhere...?

[ Gale reaches out to take Prim's hand in an attempt at being comforting. He was there to protect her when Katniss was in the Hunger Games the first time. He was there to protect her when the bombs hit District 12. But this time. This time was so much different. He really screwed up this time ]

I haven't seen your mom anywhere, but that doesn't mean she's not here somewhere. Last time I did see her, she was doing alright. Working a lot.

Suddenly, my name doesn't seem so bad.

[Her brow furrows a bit, lips falling into a thoughtful frown.]

God and her mother...

[She tests each word out, carefully, quietly to herself...]

What does it mean?

[It doesn't sound so bad to her, really...but then again, 'roast duck' may not sound so bad at first, either...]

Wow.

No, it's really not.

[She doesn't mean to, but when she see's this man, this stranger in this new, strange place...she takes a few reflexive steps back, brow furrowing almost suspiciously as he speaks.

[He hasn't done anything wrong, and she's not exactly afraid of him...Just a little gun shy after all that's happened, especially in this new place, separated almost entirely from the people she knows and trusts...

[Though, if she doesn't know this man...he certainly seems to know a thing or two about her...She wonders if he truly understands the meaning of the name...]

Who are you...?

[His face clouds as the girl backs away, but he can understand if she's scared. He's a grown man and she's never seen him before. Plus mun headspaces can be frightening places in general.]
