No doubt about it, the previous Avatar is an inspiration. He simply didn't go far enough.

Of course he didn't go far enough. Not everyone will waste away in a prison cell just because he puts them there.

And prison needn't be an option. Just one touch, and they're cured.

You can't "cure" true talent. You can steal it, but there is no cure.

Leveling the playing field. Removing a dangerous ability in the world. I could go on and on about this, if you have the patience for it.

Impossible. The playing field will never be level. Especially not while the Avatar is alive.

And it shouldn't be, either. The world isn't built to cater to cowards.

All the more reason for me to target the Avatar, regardless of the inspiration I gained from the last one.

No one should be afraid in this world. Corruption shouldn't be allowed to run free.
