In a world that's so complicated, it's easy to become confused. Not everything boils down to a simple equation.

[ Reshiram retreats to N's side, where N strokes it with gentle affection. ]

[ With Reshiram's head lowered next to N's, for a moment, they almost appear the same being; the same empty expression, the same piercing eyes, the same faraway stare. And if Reshiram could speak at all, it would be as N is doing now, in a tone of impartial judgment, regal, though just short of outright arrogance. ]

Because Reshiram also says you're a liar.

And if you lie too much, too often, reality becomes distorted. You can no longer distinguish the truth from deceit, and lose yourself in delusion.

[ N is less than stellar when it comes to deciphering tone, but Reshiram bristles. He hushes it with a soft word, and considers his next few carefully. Talking to Pokémon always was easier than talking to people. ]

[ He attempts a smile he hopes is apologetic. ]

Besides, a world of differences, a world that is gray, is probably for the best, right?

[Leaving is the very least of what he could have threatened, so it's very interesting that Reshiram reacts the way it does. Lelouch doesn't devote another thought to it, though, because--]

Out of all the things Lelouch could've said, he unknowingly opted for the one that stung the most. Reshiram has been calmed by its trainer, and thus doesn't respond in any way, but N looks like he's just been slapped.

He's not as quick to cover it up as he should be. If Lelouch was aiming to take the wind out of his sails, he's succeeded. He certainly sounds beaten. ]

You're right. I can't understand them. Because they don't speak to me like Pokémon do. Because they'll always be far away.

Start by not comparing them to Pokémon. You'll only succeed in reminding yourself of your deficiencies if you keep it up.

Pokémon were all I knew for a long time. Change might be inevitable, but it isn't so easy.

Maybe I don't know everything about people, but they're not deficient. Using such a cold term to describe them is cruel.
