So, I've made a couple mistakes, huh? Well, so have you. Somewhere, someone's rolling their eyes saying, "What else is new?" But, hey, it happens.

We all make mistakes, we all hit rough patches, and eventually we all have to own up to the consequences. Trust me, I know. You do something, or say something, or think something you shouldn't -- a lot of that going around -- and once it's done, there's no taking it back. You might want to, but you just gotta own it.

Can't say I have a lot of advice on the right way to fix it or we probably wouldn't be here in the first place, but you know what? I can tell you the wrong way to handle it: Running away. [Hands up for an innocent gesture here.] I know, I know, we both need to work on that, but at least I can admit it.

I'm not a quitter, and neither are you. If you were, we wouldn't be associated. You work it out on your end, I'll work it out on mine, we'll meet somewhere around the middle.

[Such a young General. Sokka won't assume royal blood (after all, who wouldn't want to name their son Iroh, noble or commoner?) but he's got a strong inkling its there.]

Sokka, of the Southern Water Tribe... as you know. Apparently. [He tips his head, too.] And lemme tell you, if being clever's the worst offense, you might not be so bad off encouraging your mun. Clever isn't as easy to come by as you might think.

I do like her. Strange sense of humor and all.

On the bright side, a strange sense of humor is definitely something that's not common, so it's good you can both handle it.

What's it like to be a general? Do you actual get to do battle, or do you spend all your time commanding the troops?

Ha! I wouldn't let them sideline me. I issue orders and fight. True, in peaceful times, I'm left to commanding the movements of my fleet, but I don't ever ask my men to do things I will not do myself.

[He's still a fire bender, and even with his dapper appearance, he's still there to prove that ass kicking equals authority.]

It's... kind go strange you're a general and not an admiral. Do you command armies and fleets? Or just everything?
