Regarding plans for in-game activity
Sweetheart, are you sure this is how you want to do things?
Your confidence in my ability to handle myself on this space station of yours is great and all, but do you think we could not stick me in a teleporter every time the blighted place goes on red-alert? I didn't run through the Council's gauntlet only to have you stick me in the freezer when it gets hot in the kitchen. That's not what I signed up for. You making it into a running gag could mean people get hurt, and you know how I feel about that.
But fine, I get it. You'll do whatever you want and pull the strings to make me dance. I don't get a say in it, but if that's the way it's going to be the least you could do is find me a few people to dance with, darling.

[BECAUSE EXCUSE YOU, SIR.]

I'm not assuming people need my protection. I'm saying I'd rather not be stuck in limbo and useless if someone needed or wanted someone at their back.

[arms folded, nein fucks manufactured at the factory of fucks today? sounds about right.]
no subject
[Navid raises an eyebrow at her.]
Can't blame me for not accepting it without a fight, can you?
no subject
[COME AT HER BRO.]
no subject
Whatever weapon will win the battle. It's worked in the past.

[He learned a while back not to discount someone based on their apparent age. Violet may look young, but it's not any indication of power or skill.]
no subject
[Tiny point of pride is tiny and prideful.]
Sooooo... Are you a superhero or something?
no subject
[He gives her a wider smile.]
And I don't know, what's a superhero where you're from?
no subject
[Srsbsns face.]
Where I'm from, superheroes have powers and save people. But, that doesn't mean that normal people can't be superheroes.
no subject
And if we're working off of that criteria I guess you could say I'm a superhero but that's not what we call ourselves where I'm from.
[He holds out a hand.]
My name's Navid. What's yours, sweetheart?
no subject
[That's a cautious, curious look at his hand before she holds hers out to shake it.] I'm Violet?
no subject
[He gives her hand a shake, as he would an equal.]
A lot of them serve in the military and the guard, for instance.
no subject
Oh... so they're kind of like police and stuff? [Pause. She's squinting up at him.] Are you a police officer?
no subject
At her question, Navid hesitates a moment. He wouldn't admit to it normally, wouldn't advertise it...But considering the setting he allows himself to be truthful.]
Of sort. I'm an agent with the Council. They run our country and I help to make sure everything's smooth enough for them to do so.
no subject
[Her mother taught her to make suuuure someone is a cop when they say they are.]
no subject
Provided, of course, you're good at dancing.
no subject
[He shrugs.]
As for dancing, I'm not bad. Don't step on anyone's toes unless they need stepping on.
[Work metaphor? Work metaphor.]
no subject
Ahah, very good. I'm sure you'll do very well, wherever your mundane puts you.
no subject
[He tilts his head to the side.]
I appreciate the vote of confidence. What about you? Has yours taken you somewhere?
no subject
They're contemplating the same place yours is, I believe.
no subject
Are they? Have they told you any of their plans or do they play with their cards close to the chest?
no subject
The latter, I'm afraid. Though, considering some of the things they're known to do, I'm hardly surprised.
no subject
[A tactically sound decision, but it doesn't mean he has to like it.]

[He shrugs.]

[Another shrug, but this time he grins.]
I can adapt to whatever she throws at me, in the end.
no subject
Still, I hope that much adaptation won't be necessary. As convenient as it may be, it does sound rather troublesome to accomplish.
