Don't beat yourself up so much. They're friends right? I mean, you all are. I know it's cliche, but things'll work out for you. [ Aang sounds so sure, like he's seen it all. ] Especially if you stick to your no dating plan.
[ Where does Aang get off? He has a girlfriend who is not Katara, on a ship that Katara, who only showed up a few weeks ago, is on. It's complicated. ]
I took lessons with a bunch of them when I was younger, and they were always really cool and funny. Most of them anyway. A few, and I don't mean to judge, were pretty stiff, but so were a lot of the temple's elders. [ Shrug. ] I knew our temple's entire Sky Bison Polo team, they used to take me to matches all of the time. Those guys were all a lot of fun.
We never really talked about girls, I mean, there were a few times I listened in on some guys talking, and when I asked them about it they told me I was too young to care about girls and shouldn't be asking. I was old enough to travel to Omashu on Appa, but I couldn't know anything about girls? [ Come on. ] By the time I was twelve most of those guys had left the temple though, but I had other people to talk to.
No one was cooler than Gyatso. He was the man who raised me, and he told the best jokes in the temple. Not to mention he was a big fan of pranks, and he talked to me about girls. It wasn't all just fun and jokes. He was a great listener. There was hardly a problem I had that I couldn't talk to him about, even a lot of the other boys who he didn't see as much liked to talk to him. Gyatso was everyones favorite.
It sounds like they were a lot of fun, Aang. I would've liked to meet them and have seen your temple's Sky Bison Polo team going for gold at a match, that must've been incredible.
I've never heard of Gyatso, but I don't know much besides the bare bones about you. [ Chagrined shrug. ] You're the guy everyone wants to talk about these days, although it never goes much beyond the obvious Avatar stuff. I'd say you've made legendary status in your own right.
I've known about being the Avatar for over a year, and the war's over, but being told I've made legendary status is still feels a little weird. [ But who cares about weird? Aang doesn't, that's why he's smiling now. ]
Still, meeting you, Korra, your brother, Tenzin, Toph's daughter, and everyone else, it's been amazing. [ Makes knowing that he's dead when they are all alive a little bit easier to cope with. ]
Plus, I've seen what you can do with your bending. Well, a little bit at least, since my mun isn't that generous when it comes to sharing, but you're great. Man, they sure didn't have probending around when I was a kid. [ Aang's just gonna do a couple of flameless fire punches. ]
[ Flattered all around (and surprised Aang's interested in probending) he smiles. ]
It's not that difficult to learn, you'd be really good since you're small and quick, you're only allowed second-long blows of bending to throw out. Even Azula's giving it a shot.
Well, hey, if end up in a place with my son, or if he ever comes to the Thor maybe I'll get to. Not that I have anything against using the other three.
I wonder if Tenzin will play on a team in Adstring' when he arrives ... it's something to think about and I bet Lin would do it, too, if only to aim rocks at him. I guess there's a chance I'll see your moves by proxy.
You should get Katara to convince him to play. [ No, he doesn't mean that.. ]
The Thor is the spaceship I'm living on. Though I guess it's more like a flying city, but still a ship. Actually Korra, you and your brother arrived not too long ago. But we didn't get to talk about probending.
[ And while he's on the subject. ]
You're at Adstring, that's right. A lot of my friends are there too. [ Almost too many. ] And I worry about Katara especially. [ Whoops he didn't mean to let that slip either. ] I just mean that it's not the greatest of places, even if there are a lot of cool people there. [ He's not going to list his Katara worries. Like how she'll take care of others before taking care of herself. He admires her for it, but still worries. ]
