You know, it's really nice to have a vacation, but don't you think that five years was a bit much? Well, that's not important. Thank you for giving me the chance to socialize again. It's a comfort that you hadn't forgotten about me. Maybe someday you would allow me to prove my worth once again and app me into a game, yes? That would be most appreciated. Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to be rude and sound impatient.

I'm pleased that you're returning to school. Although I hadn't done much other than using my Alter powers for the betterment of everyone, I should have studied when I had the opportunity. Don't let yours slip away, okay?

In this case, I woke her up and made my demands pretty clear. All I wanted was to be heard and apparently my timing was correct.

I'm not very good with my history. I'm better with, well, that's not entirely relevant here.

No, it's fine. I already said too much. Please, don't mind me. I don't have many usable skills other than using my Alter power.

Alter, Alter, Alter -- you keep using that word and you're not explaining what it is or what you can do.

Oh, right. I keep forgetting that there are some people that wouldn't know what it is.

You see, it's ability I was born with. It takes years to develop much like how a child learns to walk and talk. An Alter user is a person that can use this power just as naturally as it would for someone that can play the piano in which the Alter power needs to be honed much like a skill at such a young age.

Most of us Alters have a physical manifestation such as hair and eye color. For some, it could be a mark that they were born with that determines if they are one or not. Most are eccentric, some are able to assimilate easily into society without any trouble.

These powers and those that have it, there is some fear attached to it.

[He looks away for a moment as he thinks.]

It's this fear that has given Alters the bad reputation and there are some that use it to their advantage by making humans a slave to their personal systems by creating an order within a society that's already in distress.

My Alter uses the power of the eight Treasure Balls also known as Eternity Eight that I can use in tandem with one another to perform various tasks.

[ Holy bollocks, that is a lot of information all at once. She sits through his explanation, mostly letting it all go in one ear and out the other. But, it manages to stick somewhat for future use just in case. ]

So, it's pretty much like people want to eradicate what you are without giving you an opportunity to fight and prove yourself. I can't say that I'm surprised since it's happened before. You know, history likes to repeat itself and all that.

What sort of things have been put in place to establish order, or have you been able to go that far just yet?

[He nods and looks off to the side.]

Something like that. There have been methods put in place before, but eventually the general population began to reject what has been established which caused the failure.

I can't explain everything as I would like and some of the information is classified. You see, even with order, chaos still seems to want to take control. It took me a while to figure out that not everyone wants to live the same comfortable life as those within the Wall.

Again, I wish I could say that I was surprised, but I'm not. I feel sorry, though, that you have to put up with that.

And, that's fine - I wouldn't expect you to, actually. Systems and all that, right?

Right. It would take too much time to explain and with a place as fluid as this, the likelihood of our memories remaining intact would make our conversation irrelevant. I guess if we met in another place and time, things would have turned out differently.

Oh, no, you don't. It's actually refreshing to see that someone has a clear and level head around here.

Seriously? Well, [He blushes slightly from the compliment and smiles.] thank you. Usually people tell me that I talk too much and be done with it.

Well, when you acknowledge the fact that you talk too much, I really can't say otherwise.

Well, at least you're honest.

You'd be surprised how little honesty there really is in the world.

Truthfully speaking, honesty is hard to come by even where I'm from. Sadly, many people lost their lives to the deception that the government has done and some have gone insane from the treatments of the Mainland.

[His face changes from sad to a smile.]

But, you're right. As long as there is a shred of decency left, there is hope for humanity. I just hope it carries on.

[ The word insane makes her narrow her eyes for just a brief second as she returns to her calm state once more. ]

It's good to think like that. Who knows? If you try anything once, the results are endless.

Five years? That's quite some time to be sleeping.

Technically, it wasn't sleeping, but that's a pretty close assessment. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but that's an interesting outfit.

[He sheepishly chuckles from his comment. Usually, he gets slapped for making such remarks.]

Yeah, I can't wear anything like that. It wouldn't go well with my physique. Still, it's nice on you. I have a question, in this Facility place that my mun is looking at, do you have any idea what it's like there? I am curious.

I'm heading there soon, as I've been told. I'm not exactly happy to be going back to prison.

[ Read "not exactly happy" as "being tempted to cast a huge ice spell on everyone close by" and you'll have her feelings down pat. ]

It's a prison? I thought it was a space station. [sighs] I guess it's my fault that she's sending me there.

[Tachibana's interest is heightened for a moment.]

What do you mean, going back? Were you in prison before?

[shadowfrost]

It's a space prison, I suppose...as nonsensical as it sounds. [ A Witch calling something nonsensical, oh the hilarity. ]

It isn't a pleasant experience. That's all I'll say about it.

Well, I suppose any place where there's no escape could be viewed as a prison of a sort. The possibility of going stir crazy could pose a problem. I guess I'll find out when I get there.

Oh, by the way, my name is Asuka Tachibana. It's a pleasure to meet you. Do you know why you're going?

Fatima... [ She nods a little in greeting before shrugging at the question. ]

As far as I know, I'm going because she thinks it would be funny.

Why would your suffering be funny? I never could understand the humor in watching someone in pain. I guess it's the sadistic nature of these muns. I'm sorry. I know what you're going through.

[He tries to offer a comforting smile.]

I can handle myself without needing the sympathy of others. Wherever she sends me, I'll do what I need to in order to survive. [ She's well used to that sort of thing. ]

My apologies. I didn't mean to trivialize through being patronizing in any way. Either way, you do what you have to in order to survive. I should do well to remember that.

[He's going to learn some pretty hard lessons, that's for sure.]

[ She waits for a moment before speaking again, and this time her voice is softer. ]

From what I've learned, the only way you can be hurt there is to lose your own conviction to survive. If your will is strong enough, you'll do fine.
