voicetesting; and probably eternally homeless
I would ask you, mundane, to think this through carefully. I have a home, a kingdom to protect, and the very fact that you have thus far been unable to find anywhere to send me should perhaps be taken as a kind of sign.
While I can appreciate the consideration, my people need me. Now more than ever. I don't have time for games.

But she seems to have no regard for all that we've done, or all there is yet to do.

I'm sure all there is yet to do will still be there waiting to be done once your vacation is over. Your people are strong, trust them to manage.

It does not appear that I'm being given a choice in the matter one way or the other, but she can't expect that I'll just accept it. The people of Tabor are strong, but the kingdom itself is still just recovering.

You? No, heavens forbid, no one would expect our new warrior queen to. [ He's a little bit proud ] True enough. Then let this not take the spirit out of you. You'll need it when you return.

Try as she might, there are some things even she will not be able to strip away. (Oh look, it may be weak, but she's at least trying to smile. If anybody's earned that pride it's....well...her. But also him. After all, if it weren't for his rudimentary fighting lessons, she'd likely be a dead warrior princess) And you? Now that the battle is over, will you simply allow yourself to be told what to do and where to go?

'Sides, if you trail her along anything like you've done me, it's bound to be more your adventure than hers. [ He tilts his head from side to side, giving a little shrug ] Some of what's to do and where to go's not so bad. And if I'm not willing to do any talking, whose to say they'll be marching me anywhere, hm?

An adventure? After everything we had to face, is that really how you're referring to it? (Because honestly, nightmare seems a lot closer) I imagine that the promise of mead could get you to do many things you otherwise wouldn't.

[ He lets out a kind of chucklesnicker. it's always amusing in retrospect. ] We fought trolls, explored enchanted forests, met magic folk. Does it not sound like an adventure? [ Smirkitysmirksmirk. He knows he's being a dork. ] Ah, you know me too well, princess. But at least I am reliable, am I not?

I suppose I was a bit distracted at the time. (Maybe he's being a dork, but he's not entirely off base either, and her gaze goes slightly distant, lips quirking upward) Sanctuary was beautiful, though. I'd like to go back one day. (But she can't be too agreeable here) Reliable so long as you've got a steady supply.

Aye, running fugitive from a dark sorceress will do that to you. [ there's a little half-smile that comes to his expression. watching Snow all enchanted and joyful in Sanctuary warmed his heart. still does. not that he'll be admitting to it. ] We'll go. Find your time away from queenly duties and I'll take you again. [ said with sincerity, up until the next part, which gets a laugh, and a finger pointed for emphasis as he goes on ] Reliable when there is and not when there isn't - very reliable in it's predictability, is it not?

(Snow doesn't have many happy memories. Most all of them are from before her seventh year, before her mother passed away. But she still remembered Sanctuary fondly. It was only when her thoughts strayed to Gus that things became painful once again) I'm sure that I could find a little time away. (Just...y'know...not enough to get shoved into some stupid game. It always starts out as a day trip and never ends that way) Reliable and predictable are not quite the same things, whatever you imagine.

[ They both remember Sanctuary fondly, though Huntmans is much less likely to admit to it. An evening with friends, watching Snow, a girl who seemed to have very little worth smiling for, beaming and getting her blessing from ancient forest spirits. Not something usual for him, but a pleasant memory nonetheless. ] The kingdom can handle a day with the archer and his father looking over it. Muir would be pleased to see you again. [ He gives a cheeky kind of grin ] But close enough to count?

(The last ten years of her life had been quite far from normal, and yet it was fairly safe to say that what they experienced for those few short hours hadn't been usual for any of them. A brief respite from the constant running, the worry and fear) You know his true name, I don't understand why you refuse to use it. William is a good man. (If a little obsessive at times) It would be wonderful to see him again, though I suppose you still owe them. (Notice how it's not even a question. She knows you, Huntsman. And yet, for some reason, she can't quite contain a smile. So she instead ducks her head, hoping he might not have noticed) Perhaps I could concede. Just this once.

I know yours and my own as well, but see no need to tax them further. [ Names are personal and mean that he is personal and familiar with people and that's awkward for him so William gets to be 'the archer'. Also because he's not sure he approves of him much yet. He raises his eyebrows to her. ] I could be calling him much worse.
Pah, I owe a lot of people I don't see the need to visit. [ Ah, victory. A smile from our little queen. He grins back. ] I feel like there should be some sort of feast or celebration to mark the occasion.

I think, if you tried, you might find that it isn't nearly as difficult as you seem to think. (Of course, what she really means by that is, it's not nearly as hard as you're making him. the lack of trust, at least, she can understand, even if she doesn't share it) You won't.
(dammit, you weren't supposed to see that, huntsman. she really needs to work on hiding these things better) You could always find the nearest tavern and celebrate the same way you always seem to. (the obvious distaste in her voice makes it all too clear what she thinks of his choice of hobby)
