Muns will always find a reason to worry about things like that. They just want us to come out the best they can make us, after all.

[Eyes soften.] Death City is a little odd, but it has its own charm. You'll do fine there.

I suppose so. However, the things she's worrying about she's already written into applications twice before and they'd been accepted. Plus it isn't as if she doesn't have experience with me in strange places.

I assume you're one of the residents, Mister...?

Even if that's so, every "strange" place has its own rules and expectations. If she's had you accepted several times before already though, I would say it's likely it will be the same this time.

It's Noa, and it's nice to meet you, sir. [A faraway smile.] I used to be, but as you know, all things come to their end. [Lifts his head and shrugs casually.] But there's always a chance to return.

[Nods slowly.] It's become easier to deal with, but I left some good friends and an unfinished war back there. These things are in our mun's hands, though.

So, is your mun making you a Meister or a Weapon over there? I was a Weapon myself, a chakram.

Meister. I have some experience working with someone who could transform parts of his body into various weapons back home, so she felt that it'd be a better match for me. Plus I've been highly trained in the martial arts and traditional weaponry, so it'd put those talents to good use. I agreed with her assessment.

Really? [His wide-eyed curiosity shifts into understanding.] There are so many different universes. It's more than possible for people to be able to transform into weapons in two worlds.

You have a lot of experience. Shibusen could really use someone like you.

[Six nods.] To be honest, Rex's particular abilities are a rarity but people developing strange powers has become the new normal on my world. I'm assuming that's not the case with yours.

I don't like the idea of being hijacked to fight in someone else's war, but I understand that desperate times call for desperate measures. Particularly when the leader is so young.

[Shakes his head.] Where I'm from, we command elemental magic and fight alongside summoned Spirits. The bond between Spirits and Shard Casters is similar to that of Weapons and Meisters, though not quite as symbiotic.

That's understandable. Not everyone can accept the responsibility of fighting for a cause that isn't theirs. I just wanted to help where I can. [A beat.] It's not as if it hasn't happened to me before.

It wasn't my choice but if I want to get home, the fastest way back would be to end the war.
