While I don't mind being spared the torments of so many of these ill-intentioned "homes", I have only so much patience, and wouldn't mind the opportunity to prepare a suitable revenge - or the re-emergence of the Order. My ideals are not so incompatible with those of others, after all, and I doubt anyone will be accused of heresy this time around.

Very well: they are not incompatible with most men's ideals. Furthermore, even people with similar minds can be driven apart by sin ... or outside influence.

You can drive people away simply by trying to force them to agree to your ideals. I'm guessing anyone who speaks so openly about unifying people and getting revenge is not so skilled in the art of subtlety.

In a place like this, subtlety is not necessary. And who is to say, other than you and yours, that unity is a terrible thing? You would drive the world apart for your own satisfaction.

If there is no conflict, what drives us forward? There is no harm in peace, but a unity that would render all men the same would be boring.

So, you would prefer a world filled with strife, loss, and endless, senseless death, rather than bearing with simple boredom? If you have ever lost, Assassin, then you should know why we strive as we do.

Last I recalled, Templar, it was your people who specialized in strife, loss and senseless death. Ironic, given that you cannot change human nature by force.

You are an Assassin. Even outside your kin, you are nothing more than killers. Though the Order kills because we are soldiers, do not for a moment think you are somehow blameless because you do so to protect.

Blameless? If there is anything we are guilty of, it is continuing this war, but that is preferable to the cost of allowing the Templars to run rampant, unchecked. I'd sooner be a murderer to protect humanity's freedoms than the tyrant lording over slaves.

I have the feeling that if you were given the benefits of the tyrant, you would soon change your tune.
