That man! How could he do something like that to him? I don't care what personality was he wearing as shell at the time. Angra is still Angra! He suffered enough! [Protective of her Servant, isn't she? How could you choke him and break his heart, Emiya Kiritsugu? You said you would accept him, you lying cheat.]

I know that wish result was awful, mundane. [A sigh. Karen and she know him better than anyone.] There were other ways to reject it without harming my Avenger.

This is an old story, Shirou. Once upon a time, somewhere else, a person was given the crimes of all the country and punished until death. Now this he never asked for that. He was a good-natured young man when they chose him arbitrarily in order to bear their sins.

[so it begins the tale of that unfortunate man who is unable to rest, unable to die, as he exists to relief the burden the world has.

That is Angra.

[he listens. Shirou gives Bazett his undivided attention as he listens to a story that only serves to grow more morbid and violent. more cruel. in her words, he hangs off of each and every one. and then...he starts to understand. somebody who had nothing. somebody who was empty. where Avenger asked "why me?", Shirou asked himself the very same question that ultimately lead to his twisted sense of values. "why me?" why couldn't everyone else live?]

[Emiya Shirou gave up on his ideal to be a superhero, though he still valued the life of a select few over himself. Sakura being the most important one. to that end he could almost be seen as an empty person still. the scale of suffering was different, but the idea was the same. and yet...that was all that lead to Angra Mainyu becoming what he was? a boy that took on all the evil's of the world? who only knew of hatred and could only act through evil?]

[the one who saved Bazett. the one who used Sakura in a bid to get out. the one who was bound by fate to be hated and blamed. that was exactly what Bazett was talking about.

he killed without discriminiation. that was what Shirou had said when first confronting Bazett.

Though if that's not the real Angra I'm fighting, it should be alright. I'll just blame humanity's wish of him instead. That's one less person to curse him.

She has a sad smile at the conclusion, but she has accepted it.]

He'd have like to go back and build a portrait of the world into that void. A precious picture of the humanity he hates to love and loves to hate. That's something I understood when he told me to run towards the light as he ran into the opposite direction.

[it helps when thinking of what he's about to destroy as not the real Avenger. if Avenger and Caren had helped him...if he really was as decent of a guy--no. it was more then that. Emiya Shirou was Angra Mainyu in the time that Bazett knew him]

[that look. he knows it all too well. it's the same kind of evil smirk that the likes of Tohsaka would give. oh he knows his women. something's not right here]

[she has forgotten he's a little slow in the uptake, so she makes clear her wish.]
