So very kind of you to finally give me icons with which to express myself. I dare say if that kind woman had not sent you some, you would have never had the motivation. And please, spare me your excuses - "proper schooling" is not really all that "proper". Stifling the imagination and morbid curiosity in favor of creating more like-minded simpletons hardly seems like an ideal practice. And you have stated yourself, "in this economy, it's unlikely I'll even get a job". Why do you pour money, then, into something which will give you nothing in return for your investment? Curious.

I am growing tired of your jokes about "posting" with me on Father's Day. This day does not exist in my time and will not for several decades. As for Christine Daaé, and I am her teacher, not her father. A father figure perhaps, but, that is of little import.

You are honestly beginning to make me regret granting you my Voice. I am not certain creating another account for me would be wise, seeing as how you have blurred many of the lines between the movie adaption and the book, as it is. There cannot be two Angels of Music.

That is the heroic code. Since mortality is the human condition, it is best to live gloriously, so that one's legacy lives on.

At least for me. For women, it is always best not to be spoken of.

There are many other women in history that are still spoken of today. What these fools tell you is not always true.

I mostly compose operas. I suppose you know of "tragedies", mademoiselle? The music I write is for them. I can also sing, though I do prefer writing music to performing it.

It is a theatrical work which is wholly sung; an operetta is one that is mostly sung, with some spoken parts. What I am sure you are familiar with is a Greek play, that is, what opera is derived from. Opera is a revival of the old Greek tradition, in effect.

Some woman calling herself "the Middle Childe" sings something called "showtunes" once a week. Everyone listens to it and my room mates call the station to heckle her.

Oh, she's quite talented. A beautiful voice. But apparently, her taste in music is not popular.

Neither is mine any longer, it seems. Sometimes, genius and talent go... under-appreciated.

I think I would very much like to hear this woman and her voice, were I in the "game" to which you refer.

Anyone can. Radio is accessible to everyone. All you need to do is press a button on a device.

Technology is...interesting. Even if it is confounding.

There are many new things being created every day, in my time. There is a thing across the sea in England that has just come about. It is called a "light bulb", in which light is created by the power of water. Is that not fascinating? Much brighter than any candle or lamp, and it lasts much longer, too - this electric light can be lit for almost three months.

I've heard of such things. Orbs of light without any sort of flame. Isn't it remarkable?

And more so, isn't it remarkable that it was the work of man, not the gods?

It is indeed. There are also steam engines, that can turn water into steam for locomotion. Entirely fascinating.

Humankind is very industrious in my time.

Ah, yes, I believe you mean an automobile. Monsieur Trouvé demonstrated one run by electricity just this year. Not very practical, I'm afraid, but, it is a start.
