"Father's" Day bandwagon, also icons and musings
So very kind of you to finally give me icons with which to express myself. I dare say if that kind woman had not sent you some, you would have never had the motivation. And please, spare me your excuses - "proper schooling" is not really all that "proper". Stifling the imagination and morbid curiosity in favor of creating more like-minded simpletons hardly seems like an ideal practice. And you have stated yourself, "in this economy, it's unlikely I'll even get a job". Why do you pour money, then, into something which will give you nothing in return for your investment? Curious.

I am growing tired of your jokes about "posting" with me on Father's Day. This day does not exist in my time and will not for several decades. As for Christine Daaé, and I am her teacher, not her father. A father figure perhaps, but, that is of little import.
...
You are honestly beginning to make me regret granting you my Voice. I am not certain creating another account for me would be wise, seeing as how you have blurred many of the lines between the movie adaption and the book, as it is. There cannot be two Angels of Music.

... though, it would not be so terrible, to have a wife. I have longed for companionship for quite some time.

You are much more... optimistic about the machinations of the Gods than I, m'sieur. It is only this. [And he lightly taps his mask with one finger.] I know what I am capable of; I judge not my talents so harshly. I have been said to have a soul for music. I sing well, and compose; I also design buildings, and build them; I am a master of illusions and sleights of hand, I can invent... I do have a great many talents of note.

Then you are a man I would be proud to have in my kingdom or marry my daughter should I have one. A man is not judged based upon looks my friend but the deeds that are done in his lifetime.

But surely you judge the looks of a demon from a man, even if you do not judge between men themselves.
I am afraid, then, that you would not want me in your kingdom after all. For several years I was employed to the Shah-in-Shah of Persia. I helped make many people... how shall I put this... disappear, for His Excellency? Yes, I believe that is an excellent term. It is not as if I fought on a battlefield, as you have.
