[He blames Korra deeply. His thoughts leak from quick quirks of expression, from the widening of his eyes to the rising corners of his mouth. He blames her for everything. Unfairly, unjustly, extremely. And it's so much easier to displace any anger at Amon onto the Avatar, because Tarrlok would never have been put in that position without her -- of this he convinces himself.

He eyes that hand, thoughtfully.

Your concern is understandable. But I ask you, Amon, to whom could I betray you? Republic City would sooner imprison even a former bloodbender than champion him, whatever his redeeming deeds.
