She's a Bei Fong, Aang. Even without her bending she can take care of herself, I would have taught her that much.

Your family are better off safe, especially since you just got a new grandkid. Lin wanted them to leave her behind if anything happened. She was willing to do that much.

I know, Toph. If she's even half as tough as you, she should be able to survive. I still feel really bad about it. Especially since... I'm the one who brought energy bending back in the first place.

[a light smile.] I am really happy for my family. I'm so proud that Tenzin and Pema could bring another Airbender into the world, and that makes me so happy. I just wish that their safety didn't have to come with that high of a price.

It's not your fault though. It's this Amon guy's. You shouldn't feel bad about something you can't control.

They're the last Airbenders. If Amon hadn't stopped to interrogate Lin they would've been captured and had their bending taken away. It was important to preserve your people, Aang. Lin knew what she was getting herself into when she left them.
