Hello, Ms. Mundane. [He's sitting with his fingers laced and his gaze calm yet stony, focusing completely on his mun.]

I understand that I'm not the first one to be abducted from my home by you. Or by other muns, for that matter. My... 'headmates' have filled me in on how things work.

[He looks completely cool and collected despite the fact that everything he knows to be true has been turned on its head. And despite the fact that, for the first time, he's facing a person without knowing a exactly how their mind works. He's working on fixing the latter problem at the moment, and luckily, he's really good at his job.]

You pluck people out of their worlds without any risk to yourself, and you watch each of us meticulously to understand how we think and act. You're careful. Not with myself or any of the people in your 'headspace', but around other mundanes. You need--

[No. You are not about to profile your mun publicly, Hotch. By her mun-ly powers, you're forced to stop talking about this.

Hotch suddenly falls silent. And now he's giving his mun a scary glare.]

Sorry you got caught up too Hotch.

[Hotch clears his throat, gaining his voice back from his mun's impromptu exercise of 'mun-ly powers'.] I underestimated how much power she has over me.

[He looks at Morgan, still looking completely calm but privately angry that anyone on his team has been dragged out here too.] Morgan, how long have you been here?

Profiling your mun, Aaron?

[ He raises an eyebrow. ]

I was. [He clears his throat. Losing his voice for a second there messed up his throat a bit.] I underestimated her. [Rest assured, he'll continue building a profile for her in his head.]

I didn't expect to see you here, David. [And he's not exactly thrilled that you've been caught too. How much of the team has been abducted?]

I've been here for a while. [ He purses his lips. ] Too long.

[He does not like the sound of that.]

Are you okay?

[He doesn't expect Rossi to say so if he's not, but he intends to get a read on his non-verbal response.]

[ He's right, he won't really say much if he's not fine. Hotch does know him extremely well, after all. ]

I'm fine, I'm worried about you. I've been here long enough to know what can happen.

[Rossi doesn't worry easily. The fact he's worried worries Hotch, but he won't let that on. He'll just sit back and try to gauge how much damage his friend might have taken.]

My... headmates have told me something about what can happen. [He speaks carefully, picking his words.] But I suggest you worry less about me and more about the team. How many of us are here? I've already seen Morgan.

[ He certainly very rarely ever worries about himself. The worry he does feel is almost always felt for them -- his family. ]

I'd say I hope you never have to find out, but we both know better than that.

There's Reid, JJ, Prentiss. I haven't seen Garcia around.

What I've heard so far isn't promising. [His working theory is that his mun has definite sadistic tendencies--plucks people from their own world and tortures them until they break--but he hesitates to actually put the label on her since he hasn't seen any evidence of her getting sexual gratification from it. She's dehumanized them. She's dehumanized all of them.

And his mun's really starting to wish that her muse would stop trying to profile her.] I've heard from headmates that Reid shares a mind with me, but I haven't seen him yet. [He's going to hunt down Reid as fast as possible, though. There are way too many depraved people running around his mun's head with them, and he doesn't like Reid being alone.] We'll need to find JJ and Prentiss, and with any luck, Garcia hasn't been taken as well.

Both of you are in there? [ For just a moment, there's the barest hint of a smile before it disappears again. This mun knows all about muses trying to profile her. By now, of course, this muse has seen the futility in trying to do it openly; of course, there's no way he'd let them stop him altogether, he just keeps it to himself. ]

I'd be happy not to find any of them if that meant they were still home, and safe. [ But it doesn't mean that at all. ]

Yes. We are. Hopefully, we can work together from inside. [Hotch is still going to try to profile her publicly when he can. It's the only way he can get into her head, so to speak.]

So would I, but we'll have to prepare for the worst for as long as we don't know. Are mundanes omnipotent? [He needs all the information he can get. He doesn't know how reliable his headmates are, and he trusts Rossi.]

... She needs what?

Oh, she made you stop talking didn't she?

[The muns are even more powerful than Hotch? Say it ain't so.]

[Hotch's mouth is one grim line. He massages his throat, unable to speak for a moment.]

I underestimated how much power she has.

[He looks at Reid, his expression hard to read as usual.] Reid, how long have you been here? [Excuse him while he tries to gauge how much physical and/or emotional damage you may have sustained.]

Many people do, unfortunately.

In my mun's headspace? 2 years and four months.

Two years. [His reaction is tightly controlled, but he does not like that.] Are you okay?

[He doubts you'll be honest, but he's going to analyze the hell out of his response to see if Reid is actually okay or not.]

I'd say that tilts the odds in your favor. [ He's hopeful, in any case. With two profilers in there, that certainly bodes well. ]

[ And then he nods. ] We have our work cut out for us.

For the most part, yes. My mental and physical capacities are intact. I've seen.. very strange things, things that I could not apply logic too. But if you're asking if my mun has tortured me, the answer is no. She believes I'm tortured enough in canon.

[Hotch is inclined to agree, but he won't say that.] Good. That's one less thing to worry about.

What kinds of things have you seen?

[He relays this all rather excitedly.]

Magic. By that I mean the kind that is real. The kind that involves waving wands and saying incantations. I was able to do it somehow. I've seen various kinds of aliens, lived in an alien city. I live in a village where I've met Faramir from Lord of the Rings and Queen Elizabeth herself.

As I said, things that defy logic entirely - including meeting other versions of myself. I-It's been a learning experience, really.

Mun's also into.. slightly ridiculous things... like setting me up with whatever woman she thinks I'm 'cute' with.

Magic? That would certainly explain some things I've seen, but I find it hard to believe. [Yet he has the utmost confidence in Reid. If Reid says he's seen magic, aliens, fictional characters, and historical figures in this place, Hotch believes him.] I'll have to wait and see some of this for myself. If it's possible for a young woman to abduct us and make me stop talking at will, then I suppose I have to keep an open mind.

Other versions of yourself? [...TWO REIDS.] That would explain why I've been told there's a version of you with me in this mun's headspace.

[There is the slightest quirk in the corner of his mouth, a brief flash of amusement, and then it's gone again. Even if Reid seems exasperated by it more than anything, Hotch doesn't know if it's a serious problem or not.] That's better than outright torture, I suppose.

I'd hate to have you in my headspace. [ A pouty sort of frown here. ]

Yes, that's not unusual actually. Ashley Seaver was in here with me for a short time.

[He gives a long sigh.]

It's a different kind of torture, really. My mun doesn't outright torture me but she loves to put me in awkward situations for her amusement. S-She's sending me to the place where I'm going to have... a w-wife and kids. For some reason, she can't see the psychological parallel between one who gets off on torture and one who gets off on embarrassment. It's deviance, regardless.

Seaver was with you?

[Alright, that's another teammate. Admittedly, not a current one, but still. Hotch adds her to his mental list of people to look out for.]

A wife and kids? [Hotch's lips thin in a grim line.] How can a 'game' change reality itself?

That's what the games are all about - a complete distortion of reality. Muns create scenarios that they find interesting or which satisfy some type of psychological need. We're then placed into them as their proxies. It's a classic case of living vicariously. This whole world is muns trying to work out whatever issues they have by using us.
