(no subject)

I've got a better idea. We'll live vicariously through the other Asamis on the internet.

[ Because she cannot stand this talk of her and Korra and... Them. Together. ]

Aw, come on, it's not like being five or something... I am transitioning into being an adult, you know. Even if people don't see it.

I know plenty of people who were less mature than me and older! It's not like a switch gets flipped and then it's safe to teach someone to drive!

All anyone but Biggs will let me fly is a hoverscooter. Those are embarrassing, they don't even go fast enough to need a windscreen or goggles!

[seriously, they're kid stuff.]

He's got a new landspeeder! [Luke would say the model, but it's two am and the mun's unwilling to dig through her book collection to look it up just now.] It's so fast, and it's got an optimum flight ceiling of four meters. He only lets me try it when we're way out in the desert far from everyone, though.
sandwormie: (But why not?)

Yeah, they... well, they hover. Over the ground. There's landspeeders and airspeeders, and airspeeders are more like proper ships, they're built differently.

I got to two fifty klicks per hour! ...Actually it's only sort of new, it's the shell of an old Selaniko Sportster, but he bought a new Aratech Arrow and just... took the engine out and rebuilt it into the Sportster. You can do that when you're rich I guess, buy speeders just to use bits of them... Well, it does work great. The handling is amazing!

I wish I could show you! There are some groundcars on Tatooine, with wheels and all, but they have to stay on roads, so there's just a few, and in cities.

I plan to be! One day. My father - well, okay, he was a navigator on a spice freighter, but those have to know how to fly the ship too, they'd have to. People who knew him say I'm a lot like he was.

[suddenly, serious!]

The wandering kind. The kind who's been everywhere, or almost, and seen a little of everything... The kind who never stays in one place for long, and calls space home. And who's been the first human to see a bunch of things.

I think I'd like that.

Umm... I think I figured this out once...

Oh, I'd join the Survey Corps! They put together these small teams of people to go out into the unknown and map it, and they make first contact! It's really dangerous work and complicated, so the teams have a lot of autonomy, it's not like set schedules and rigid orders and so on.
sandwormie: (Here to rescue you!)

Everywhere is dangerous in some way. ...Well, everywhere interesting. You just have to rise to meet it!

Yeah! As long as it's, y'know, one of the places where you get to choose things and rule your own life a bit and it's not all miserable. There's a lot of them.

Mine says [community profile] the_library is as dark-looking as she ever wants to go. We actually left a game that was pretty good because she doesn't like what happens with me when someone close goes and turns evil... well, and 'cause most of the other people I knew there were gone.

...She doesn't have a lot of muses, so she gets really attached to us.
