[ooc: Link to the Past version]
You're really going to go through with this?
I mean, you could be doing something more productive with your time.
For example, I'm saving maidens and mowing the grass for rupees.
You should try mowing the grass.
Seriously.

... which explains my existence.
It also explains why it's so difficult to think up a distinctive personality for me.

Or a sword that "won't shut up".
I can't imagine a sword that talks. It sounds neat-o to me.
I just laughed way too hard
tee-hee
[holds up his sword. Literally, not figuratively]
Would it make it feel better if I talked to it instead?

Who knows? They say everything has a soul. Even swords.
no subject
Even swords?
[headtilt]
I... feel really bad about using bombs now. It must be painful for them.
no subject
I can assure you, such paltry explosives would never harm one like me.
no subject
... why would I want to bomb you?

I mean, if you want me to bomb you, that's okay. I'll do it. But nobody's ever asked me to do that before.

[... is this man confused?]
Do you know who I'm talking to?
I'm receiving mixed messages. Do you want me to bomb you or not?

You aren't really going to such a dangerous place, are you?
[Doesn't matter that it's not her Link, it's still a Link. She's still worried for him.]

[in this case, it's not "your princess is in another castle", it's "you're princess is in another game"... or perhaps "tower". Or maybe there's just too many princesses. This requires further study]
If there's people that need help, you should know that I'll need to do something about it.

[Zelda's heard terrible things about what happens to people in Animus, too. Though, there are some Links there already...]
It would be a fight against a current that's never going to cease. Would you still want to fight it?
gorgeous icons btw
[...]
But I do know that I'm completely uncomfortable not even trying to do anything about it.
[This is the same Link that went through at least ten dungeons to find "another you", after all]
aww thanks <3
That's what makes you worthy to bear that sword. I know not what you had to endure to gain it, but... thank you, for protecting our land.

[headscratch - cue awkward transition]
How is it underwater?
no subject
[He isn't, is he? They weren't talking about where she'd ended up, after all, they were talking about Hyrule!]
no subject
Yeah, the mun-person says that you're at a game that's underwater.
... which somehow reminds me that I'm glad I never had to go underwater for one of the dungeons I've traversed.
If you'd rather not talk about it, that's also fine. What about the Hyrule from when you came from...?
no subject
[Hyrule. That's a subject she finds difficult to broach with anyone, much less Link.]
Hyrule is... rebuilding. Ganondorf was sealed in the Sacred Realm recently. We haven't had a chance to complete the reconstruction just yet.
[That's right, Link, this Zelda is one of the sages that sealed him in the first place.]

[Oral tradition to be certain, but Link sort of knew all along, whether it be a memetic legacy or whatever. The ancient lore described nothing about a Hero of Time, and just the Seven Sages who sealed away Ganon. Yet... faintly, he knew. A Link was involved. But in a way that wasn't recorded in the annals of history.]
[ooc: I'm going by what Hyrule Historia said about the three split timelines. Which I find ridiculous since I'm pretty sure Nintendo's making shit up as they go, but I digress]
We have downfall Link in Vat even though Zelda's from the adult timeline herself, so...
I see. So you must be from the future. The answer is a complicated one. The splitting of the Triforce seems to have split time itself into multiple paths. As I saw it, yes, he succeeded. However... the Link I know in Vatheon says that he did not.
no subject
[Then again, this Link made certain that it wasn't in his own way. Then again, he's not very perturbed by it, once he finally hears it. It was more of a shock turning into a bunny rabbit than hearing the truth about this]
I can't imagine the trials you had to go through. I wish... I mean, is there anything I can do for you, Princess?
no subject
Please, don't make such a face. If you saved Hyrule in his stead, that's all I would ask of you.
no subject
If that's what it takes, then I'll continue to protect our land!
[come on, Princess! Smile!
Frowning gives you wrinkles]The journey may be difficult, but in the end, if we're able to meet each other time and time again, it just may be worth it.

I'm glad that you feel that way, Link. I know Hyrule has a presence in the tower, so you won't be alone at least. Please, stay safe.
