It's not that I don't think Thor enjoys the company in here.

I'm just not sure what it is I'm meant to be doing here in the first place.

You've already said you have no intention of sending me anywhere other than these 'meme' places. Even if you did there's at least a dozen of me out there already, with teams of their own. They earned them. I've got no need or right to take that away from them.

But I'm not real happy with the idea of just sitting alone in limbo waiting for my turn to come. I think I've done enough sitting and waiting for a couple of lifetimes.

You should have just left me where I was.

Yeah, I don't give that long. Loki isn't known for his restraint. With Coulson running around trying to free the muses? It's just the type of cover a guy like Loki needs.

That sounds nice, Cap, but truth is they could come for me and no one would know until I was already halfway to some detainment camp in South America. I don't know if they told you about our military's morally questionable track record. Don't know why they would. It was well-hidden in your day, and they don't want it talked about now. [Bruce's eyes are unfocused, like he's somewhere else.] I've seen it though. [He lets a small, bitter laugh escape.] I am their dirty laundry.

None of that matters.

It might be just another outdated idea, but no one on my team gets left behind. Stark wouldn't stand for it, and neither would I.

[It does matter; Bruce knows how much it matters. But unlike Tony, he's not going to argue with a brick wall.

He smiles a little, trying to ease the tension he senses from Steve.] You and Tony have something in common? God help us.

I don't know who keeps telling you you're outdated, but it's quantifiably untrue. Ideas don't have a time stamp. Sure, some theories need improvement, and you always have to question your assumptions. But some things are more immutable than others. If Captain America's values don't have a place in the 21st century, we're all a lot more fuc-- uh, screwed than I thought.

No one likes sitting around. I do that plenty. But I find it's helpful to at least try to keep busy, even when I'm stuck in Mun's headspace.

Meet with the people in there I don't know, learn where they're from, what they're like. It's not so boring when there's someone to talk to.

[Or, you know. Try to find a way out, but that hasn't gone very well thus far.]

It helps balance out any trouble my mun sticks me in, at least.
