[A sigh, a shake of her head, then furious writing in a journal.]
"Do you know what's worse than going somewhere where you don't know anyone?
Going somewhere where you should know people and you don't. Do you know how much that is going to hurt, not remembering them? Having to face them and knowing that you should know them, but that you can't? I know, I can remember things in time, but it's cruel, mundane.
It's honestly as cruel as leaving. I left Grune, Draco, and Helios behind. I wasn't there for Pao-Lin when she needed me. I let them down and I don't know how to make it up to them."
[She pauses, expression softening slightly as she writes a little more.]
"I know. I guess coming back is a good way to start.
Think I can get my old apartment back?"

People can be very forward about knowing people that have departed. There is, fortunately or unfortunately, proof that I used to be there.
Otherwise it would be a case of trusting what they say is true.

Very difficult. It puts on a sort of unreasonable pressure and things are never quite the same. Different experiences, knowledge, things change. It's to be expected, though it doesn't make it any easier.

Circumstances seem to place you in a place you can step in the same spot despite that saying. To what good I cannot say, but it offers something of a rare opportunity at least.

[A shake of her head and a wry smile.]
Not quite the same spot. No, never the same spot. A few inches to the left or right, maybe, but never the same. Memories are tricky things.
[Her pen taps against her journal and offers a softer, more sincere smile.]
I have many good friends willing to jog my memory.

[His voice remains soft and expression blurred between a well meaning tilt of the lips and blankness.]
A willingness to do so is a good sign of friendship. They must have valued it greatly.

wereare the best friends anyone can ask for. [More than friends, family really. Ginia knows she owes a lot to them for their friendship, their kindness, their support, and love.]no subject

Does this mean I have to return your throwing knives?

The knives are yours. I'm sure I can find more if I need them.
