You know, my dear, I would be willing to bet that this is the very first time you have "posted" with me here.
Ah, perhaps the second. Overall it is an unusual exercise, something you know very well. Regardless... just what, exactly, have you planned for me in that dystopian universe you have so thoughtlessly thrust me into?
You don't even know what plans are in the works, and yet you make me available so willingly. I worry, sometimes, I really do.

I'm sorry?
--Though, if I'm to be honest, it could very well be something like that and I am just blissfully unaware. However, I highly doubt it, given the nature of the place.
[ A small pause. ]
That has happened to you?
no subject
I would like to remain blissfully unaware, except my lady tends to chortle with unholy glee when she is planning bad life choices for me.
Oh yes, space wolf gorilla trying to eat the entire population and an encounter with a vampire where it was impressed upon me that telepathy does bugger all against the mind of the undead.
It's been just a splendid week. Racing around with an asp and a garbage can lid, I can not begin to describe the pleasure of it all.
[Really, he can't. Not without lying through his teeth.]

Yourself as well? Fitting. [ Then, he seems to be taking in the rest of that information; his expression slowly changing to one of quite a bit more shock and bewilderment. ]
I must say that is enough to make me thankful of my varying adventures in both these future cities; dystopias or no. Yours is a fate hard suffered, it sounds -- I extend my apologies.
no subject
[There is a tight, small but genuine smile and then a rueful little grin.]
But we are not here for my woes but rather your own. What might your puppeteer be planning that has you so concerned, my friend?
no subject
I am not entirely certain, and that is the most worrisome part. I have been volunteered to become sick in some mystery fashion, though time will tell its cause and effect. Blindly volunteered, I might add. I try not to complain often, certainly, but in many cases I am much more informed. [ He frowns, purses his lips. ]

However, it seems that they often find these little 'surprises' to be creatively stimulating. While it will certainly not be enjoyable on your part, it is worth keeping a bit of faith that something quite clever might be worked out in the end.
[He pauses, then his lips give a small twitch and he nods his head slightly.]
At least, that is what I tell myself in order to be able to sleep at night.

[ He smiles, delicately -- concerned. ]
no subject
Not at all. I seem to be part match maker, part sounding board for my own Charles, Erik and others. Not a position I aspired too but one that found its way too me.
[He made a graceful motion with his hand for Charles to continue.]
no subject
Really, I believe that is it. It's rather a lonely existence. I should hope, with the knowledge that I know now -- that I will not be "fainting" and becoming unquestionably ill without any sort of company.
no subject
[There is a wry amusement in his tone as he recounts both of experiences with such things.]
no subject
I am terribly sorry you've had to endure such things. I have not experienced anything -- too shocking, not yet. A surprise, given the length of time that I have been "on adventures".
no subject
[A faint blush touches pale cheeks and he clears his throat, deliberately, before pressing on to change the subject.]
'On adventures' is it? Might I hear about these 'adventures'?
no subject
[ After a beat. ]
Yes, ah, adventures. Both in a City rife with superheroes, heroines, and villainy -- and this dystopia. I should say that perhaps my time -- and it is still quite ongoing -- in this City has been the most memorable.
From a charity ball during which Erik made a point to barter on me and subsequently "win" me, to a time during which he was -- replaced by an alien creature and living alongside me without my own knowledge. Though, notably, having had to go into space to rescue him was perhaps the most adventurous event in my short life there.
I can only wonder how Erik had managed to get himself so kidnapped.
no subject
[Quietly listening to the account, only to chuckle warmly at the end.]
Well, mind that I have only known Erik since my arrival in my own captive hell, what I have learned of the man would lead me to believe that he managed it the way he manages most things.
By leaping first and considering the consequences on the fifth Tuesday of the month.

[ After a few more moments... he wants to ask how it is possible that this version of himself does not know Erik in the same way, but his experience in multiverses allows him to easily take the knowledge and run with it without question. Still, it is quite curious. ]
Sordid?
no subject
Well, sort of along.]
Quite, sordid and not for public consumption. If you wish to know, ask your puppeteer to give my own a nudge for links. She will be more than happy to share the horribleness and feel quite pleased with herself.
no subject
This is odd enough in itself, but it does well to intrigue him. ]
Are you all right?
no subject
Save for my lady having just shared all the sordid things with yours, which blows to my dignity I am used too, I am well enough.
Now, when were these events in your own life supposed to unfold?
no subject
Though she assures me it is not quite as interesting. [ Charles makes a momentary face, before he's clearing his throat. ]
As early as today, I'm afraid.
no subject
If it is with Erik I am certain it is quite interesting and were mine not at work and the land of the 'must be work server safe' she would no doubt creep accordingly.
It does seem to be what these mundanes like to do.
[Winking, his features then slide into a sympathetic expression.]
Well, I am certain you shall bear up quite remarkably.
no subject
[ Charles looks rather pleased at those final words, and he nods once. ]
Yes, I -- I do hope so. Perhaps I will even get the opportunity to report back.
no subject
no subject
Yes, I am rather -- ah, worked up, as it is. You've had the same experience?
