That would be the logical decision since not only do children represent the future but numerically it would be better to do the most amount of good, which means saving the most amount of people. With great power comes great responsibility. But at the same time it's you're girlfriend and people have an emotional investment in their girlfriends and emotion and logic don't really seem to mix very well, or at least that's how they like to portray things in every robot movie ever.

Superheroes usually need a death or two or lots to force them to accept the harsh reality of a world with superheroes and villains where their decisions can have world-changing consequences. Except I guess if you're really good or if the writers prefer an unusually happy ending they'll have everyone survive and the hero will feel really good about himself.

Well, I've been a hero before and I'm pretty okay at it. I think I'm more cut out for the role of the wacky sidekick who makes a lot of pop culture references and does some of the technical stuff.
