Well I would agree! I suppose I may forgive you this once if you're well of course!

Well and good, so far. It will get better, though, once Peter comes - and once you do as well. [ pause. ] You are coming, aren't you? Oh, do say you are.

Well... well I am going to try! It's difficult, you see. It is rather strange to be apart.

[practicality]

It is, of course. I'll admit to always wondering how you are without any of us around.

[valianced]

It is a bit lonely, I'll admit, but it isn't altogether terrible. I miss you all very much. I do! Do you think we could play games again like we used to? I know we're all too old for that, but... but I think it would be fun!

[practicality]

Games? Lu, I... I think there are slightly more pressing matters in the city which need our attention. [ pause. and then, with a slight smile: ] Though there aren't any rules in engaging in some fun every now and then.

[valianced]

Oh, Susan, honestly! If we work ourselves to death, how are we supposed to keep our chins up? I would never turn down duties, but... [ a pause and giggle, then a definite little sister hug is given to Susan ] See? I told you so.

[practicality]

[ susan gladly returns the hug. she didn't want to be a wet blanket she just is but someone ought to always remind her siblings what they are in the city for. ] You'll be making friends in record time, Lu. I'm sure of it.

[valianced]

[ lucy is well aware of the practicalities of wherever it is they end up living, she always has, but she also knows how to keep the peace in the most stressful situations. ] I hope so. Who knows what will happen if I am around the three of you too long. [ today is lucy's day to tease, apparently. ]

[practicality]

Oh? And just what do you mean by that?

[valianced]

Well, what do you think I mean? [ she laughs brightly, even in the face of a possibly dangerous future ] Edmund and Peter are still stomping around like old men, I bet. What ever will we do?

[practicality]

If it's any comfort, I haven't seen them acting like old men. [ the unsaid word here is 'yet' ] However, I'm certain that you're far more capable than I am of handling them.

[ flattery will get you everywhere, yes? ]

It's just me and Su so far, though my mun says Pete's coming along soon enough.

Your mun's really going to send you here?

She says she is, yes! But at least Peter is on his way. It is always much better with all of us. If you and Pete can stand a moment without bickering of course.

If Pete and Susan would stop with the fussing. [He gives her a small, good-natured smile.] And Pete and I haven't argued for a while now, not really.

[valianced]

Oh they will never stop fussing -- they're too old not to. ( she gives a silly little smile) I'm glad to hear there haven't been arguments -- you both know I always win.

You don't always win. [Though he knows she's mostly right about that.]

But I would take the arguments if it meant all four of us were together again.

It certainly is rather silly. I imagine they miss you terribly already.

I miss them terribly, that I do know. But that place seems so very different from Narnia. Have you been?

Well, thank you. I admit, I'm much more concerned about you. [ though, he really shouldn't be. especially with lucy reuniting with her siblings in the place she's being sent to. ] These places are quite dangerous by nature.

[valianced]

[ lucy is fearless -- mostly. she can only have faith that what happens is for a reason, and that they will do their utmost to survive. ]

So you have been there. I can tell by the way you look at me, you know. That's why I need to find Peter and Edmund and Susan.

[ another reason caspian admires lucy -- or, rather, the queen. her unflappable faith has never faith has never failed to bring a smile to his lips. it's the little things, he's found. ]

A place like it, yes. [ a pause and a purse of lips. they need lucy as much as she needs to find them, this he knows. ] I've no doubt you'll flourish there. You all will.

[ if lucy did not have her faith, there would be no reason for her to seek out her siblings. ]

We always find a way. Just as we did with the White Witch. There is always a solution, it may only take patience. [ she smiles brightly, and it's clear that behind the eyes of the young girl are the mature thoughts of a queen. ]

[ her smile inspires one of his own, though his is considerably softer. ] And you'll be sure to keep them from being too serious, I'm certain. Smiles serve their own purposes, though they're often forgotten.

[Oh, he's torn. On the one hand, it would be lovely if the four of them could be together again. But he doesn't want Lucy endangered in a world they knew nothing about.]

Well yes, she is. Or seems to be. At least I will be with you, Peter! Is it like Narnia there? Surely there are adventures to go on. And don't give me that look -- I am going to come, of course! Whether you say so or not, brother.

I'm not sure yet, honestly. I've only just arrived.
