About the upcoming monster event

I know it isn't at all dignified as escapes go, but going out the nearest back window when things get rather tight is perfectly acceptable. I saw Bilbo do it once anyway although that was to escape the S-Bs...

I do not know about acceptable or dignified, but an escape is an escape. Does your mun not approve?

She seems to find the image something to laugh at. I see nothing funny about escaping these creatures using any means possible.

The idea of anyone jumping out of a window is somewhat.. amusing. [probably? mirkwood doesn't have many windows.] But not when desperate times call for it.

Of course, one must hope that whoever is at the door does not have a partner or several who have had the same idea as the person climbing out.

That is why you have someone under the window keeping watch. And to catch you, if need be.

I suppose if the person keeping watch is an elf of Mirkwood, one has nothing to fear, even if the numbers of the enemy are overwhelming.

This is one thing we can agree on and that is hardly what windows were created for! They are for letting in fresh air, airing out a smial and a good view.

One does not look at a window and immediately think 'this is the first route I shall fly to in the event of trouble'.

Unless they are a certain Brandybuck.

When one is in peril, one must use whatever available resources to get to safety.
