It was actually Viktor who confessed to his treachery; how he had killed Sonja to supposedly protect the species. To prevent a hybrid from being born. Honestly, I do not believe the roles would have been any different.

Viktor was frightened of a hybrid being brought into this world, for he feared the thought of something much more powerful than him existing.
