You know I'd ask what you're doing, but I don't think the answer will matter much. I know you're expecting to be disappointed and you know what? Thats okay.
Not every OC gets to be like Galen. Hell even then they don't get much love.

[She grins, completely fearless.]

That is all I have.

[He smiles sharply back.]

But the question is, what sort shall I visit upon you? Surely anything won't do.

Well I've already had Weapons of Mass Destruction, plagues and gangs thrust upon me... [Is that innuendo? I think it is.]

Whaddya got?

Have you? Well then, I shouldn't wish to disappoint you with something too mundane.

[He may just be having fun with this, if the grin is any indication.]

Perhaps... But no, it doesn't do to overwhelm one upon first meeting. It wouldn't be polite.

[She laughs, a quiet chuckle.] Oh why not? Could be interesting. Not every day needs to be the end of the world.

Oh no... And Manners are everything. Speaking of which... I'm Ana.

Now where's the fun in that? [Oh, but Loki's rather partial to end of the world scenarios. They just rile Thor and his merry band of misfits up so nicely.]

Well met, Ana. I am Loki. Though I gather you knew this already.

It gets old after a while.

It's a pleasure.

Well... I did, but there's nothing like an introduction.

The proper ones never do.

Few there are who would make that claim, knowing who I am.
[And speaking of that knowledge of his identity...] How is it that you do?

Don't be too sure about that.

[A shrug, but she does become a bitt more serious.]
I know a Power when I see it. And there's enough of you around to be able to figure out just who you are.

You sound as if you speak from experience.

[Little though he cares about this world and those who live in it, that pricks his curiosity.]

How is it you recognize that? So many do not.

[It's her turn to cock her head, studying him.]

Not sure... Something in the family I think. I just know... I can feel it.

[He meets that scrutiny without flinching, merely arching an eyebrow before taking a slow, controlled step toward her.]

Tell me, Ana. How does it feel?

[She remains where she is, still looking, meeting his gaze.]

Cold. Wild. Clever.

[The corner of his mouth quirks upward at that first word, something like amusement in his eyes. It doesn't halt his progress though, as he continues moving forward, inexorably narrowing the distance between them.]

Would you like to know how cold I can be?

[She shivers but not from fear. He's is a presence that fills her awareness. It's exhillerating.]

I think I would.

[He stops only when he's close enough to touch her, chin tipped up and eyes as sharp as ice. With painstaking deliberation, he holds out his hand, carefully unfurling fingers whose color bleeds to blue.]

The choice, as ever, remains with you.

[She looks from his eyes to his hand, watching the shift of colour with open fascination. Tilting her head, she lifts her hand and places it in his.

Ana sucks in a breath and shivers, but she shows no discomfort.]

Extraordinary.

[After witnessing the effects of a frost giant's touch to those of Asgard, he expects it to burn. Yet when she doesn't shrink away or express pain, a second eyebrow joins the first and he tips his head to the side.]

Is it?

[His fingers curve over hers, the touch loose and easily breakable.]

Few others would find it so.

[She nods, watching his fingers move.]

It is. Never felt anything this cold. It's actually making my fingers cold. [She holds on too long, they might start to go numb.]

I'm an exception in many things, Loki.

[You do enough deals with the devil, it changes you and that tends to carry down the family line.]

I am of the frost and ice and the deepest part of winter's heart.

[He gives her hand the faintest squeeze before releasing her hand. Immediately, the blue fades and he looks to be of Aesir blood once more.]

You'll never feel anything as cold as I.

[The flash of another smile follows.]

For I too am such an exception.

[She flexes her fingers, the feeling coming back to them.]

Won't I? [She's met a few Fae that would argue with that... but she was in no mood to bicker over details.

She gives him a soft smile of her own.]

Noted. I dare say I'm enjoying your company so far, Loki.

Not many dare as you do.

[There's a smile playing at the corners of his lips as he speaks, proof - if the God of Lies can provide proof at all - of his good humor.]

I nearly wonder at the company you keep, that I might reflect favorably.

Mmm, flatterer.

[She has her reasons for being fearless. Part of it is simply her nature. She echoes the smile.]

Oh, only the best. And certainly no one that see's the dark as evil.

[His eyebrow arches, his lip quirking.]

There are great and terrible things in the darkness. They are not all of them kind. Nor gentle.

You're implying I need something gentle and kind... [Ana leans closer, turning her head away to speak in a conspirital whisper]

And that I am not part of the dark myself.

Lot's of trouble in my part of town. Good and bad.

How are you with giant sky jellyfish, because Jesus fucking Christ.

What kind of trouble?

Giant... what? That's a new one.

Yeah, for me too. And I've seen my fair share of weird things.

But other than that, there's some great bars and clubs, some excellent ladies to run with - yours truly included - and things that go bump during the night and day.

And sometimes those are also the ladies! [They are a fearsome lot.]

Sounds like a story I should hear sometime. [Over beer? Tea maybe? With some arsenic on the side for flavour.]

Well that does sound like mny kind of crowd. I'm rather proud of my mun, finding me a place like that. Well done.

Enough to keep me busy. Things have been pretty damn dry lately.

So you're a thrill-seeker. My God, my life is crawling with them- I'm going to end up with a collection soon enough.

Well, don't leave me in suspense; what sort of trouble are you hoping for?

Like attracts like. [You're assuming you'll be collecting her. Usually she's the one to do the collecting.]

Oh, the usual. Magic, monsters, misunderstandings. Something that will let me stretch. [The last word alost drips with suggestion. You're very pretty Miss Adler.]

I suppose, when it all comes down to it, trouble and not dying easily are rather the ideal pair.

[ she flashes half a smile ]

And we do have the most interesting sorts of trouble.

[A happy grin.]

Interesting trouble is good. I take it we'll be neighbours?

And by "interesting", Anna means "highly irritating." My God.
