Nautilus, the city I'm in now- it's under attack by a creature that wants to eat it and kill- worse than kill everyone in it. It's attacked before, and people died then... it hasn't attacked directly, yet, but someone's already been killed.

I thought I was going to die then, and when I think about it, the thing that scared me most- still scares me- was that nobody who cared about me would know what had happened to me. If they get these letters- they'll know. I won't just disappear one day, leaving them to wonder and guess.
