Do you really want to grow up? I mean... being taller... wouldn't it be troublesome at least? I... we already have problems with the cold. And it's summer. What if we grow up too much and we can't find clothes? And the food! A larger body means an increased need of food, do you think we'd stay too well with the small amount of edible food we can find around?
...
I don't really want to imagine myself in a winter night being larger, taller and hungrier without... something to cover myself.

Well... I guess growing up could be kind of troublesome back home. But if we grow out of our clothes, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make some more! Or even find some laying around that we can patch up. As for food though... it would be a challenge, but there'd always be something edible around, even if it's small, we can get by on that.

Besides, I don't really have to worry about that kind of stuff in Luceti.
