Battles are both won and lost. So what if I didn't win this time? I can always try again.

At the worst, I could always just wait for these humans to die. On a long enough timeline and however that line actually ends, as that one book says.

You assume too much. Underestimating them was when I found myself humiliatingly smashed on the floor. I know what to expect now, and to be fair, no one really knew what they were doing at all throughout all of that, or they wouldn't have let me on that ship in the first place.

Even when one wants for peace, for freedom, for true happiness? Don't be a child. Being selfless is one of the most selfish things you could try to do.

I am not the one acting as a child at present. I know the pitfalls of being selfish, I broke my oath to my companion because of a selfish madness driving me to do so.

It was through an act of selflessness that I was able to make recompense for my sin. So do not think me ignorant in such matters.

And if I recall correctly, you died along the way. Being a mortal man leaves much to be desired when it comes to that.

You're a man. You're human. Try not to apply your mortal rules to me, why don't you? I'll voice my thoughts as I want, when I want to, and we can trade all day on the issue if you think you have the time — but you could fight your human wars for generations and it'll only be just a heartbeat to the land you stand on, and I'll still be here long after the rot has melted off your bones.

I have no desire to be more than what I am. I am proud to be of the race of man. You may be blessed with that of a long life, but what have you show for your long life other than your bitter hatred toward those who loved and raised you? [Oh yeah, he went there. He actually likes Odin.]

The lives I saved with worth my life and as long as my brother and his line continue to live on than I want for nothing.

From dirt you rise, to dirt you return. I suppose you really do have something to be proud of. Your lives you lay down for each other, that's sweet; it really is. It warms my heart if I wasn't winter-borne, you know?

But like I told you, your laws and your words - they do not apply, not the way you hope. And when the day comes that I bring an answer to that question, I promise you, it will be when the world ends.
