Probably not a cast mate that you want

There's nothing wrong with being stranded, captain. Most of us have been in a similar situation a time or two. When I was stranded, it was rather nice for a time. I had a chance to meet a few of our friends.

[And for a few moments, she can keep her gaze focused on Steve, but the parrot is far too beautiful not to catch her attention.] Your friend is quite lovely.

Maybe not usually, but I've started taking on commitments that can't really afford to be abandoned, which means I can't afford to be stuck in one world because I was absentminded or clumsy or got in trouble. Wouldn't mind seeing some familiar faces, though.

[He tries to look up at Aoife, but she's a little too far back and too busy fluffing her feathers happily for him to see. Still, he's smiling now, because Peggy likes Aoife!] She's supposed to be my soul, but mostly she gives me grief and messes with my hair.

Steve, that's not how these world shifts normally work. Even if you have commitments in the future, you'll return to them once you've completed whatever task they need you for at this other place. At least, that's how it was when I found myself in another reality.

[Her expression turns from serious to amused, to very carefully surpressed shock at that voice, then amusement again.] Isn't it always females giving you grief, captain? It might annoy you, but the results are always spectacular.

[And since she's not quite sure of manners in this situation, she smiles at Aoife and nods at the dæmon.] It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad that Steve has someone to keep him company.

[Wanda can't help but raise an eyebrow at the bird on Steve's head, pointing a finger up at it with a small smile. No, rather than point a finger she raises her hand up to give the bird a finger to step onto if he wanted to. Luckily for Wanda, the odds are generally in her favor.]

It's--where I am right now, we're able to travel to a whole bunch of different worlds, including returning to our own. But, if we lose our fancy communication devices while we're out and about, we have thirty days to get it back or we're stuck in whatever world we're in, potentially forever. So far I've yet to hear of anyone who got stranded like that and made it back to the central world, which is why people might be worried if they don't hear from me for too long.

[Aoife isn't too used to speaking to anyone who isn't Steve or another dæmon, but Peggy's hardly a stranger.] I've always been here, he just knows I'm around now. It's nice being able to see you with my own eyes, though.

[Blink blink.] Uh, it's your soul in the form of an animal that can talk. It's still kind of weird, but you get used to it.

[Maybe if she were a normal bird, she'd step up happily, but Aoife is something altogether different so she actually backs away with a "hands off the goods!"]

This would be Aoife, my soul. She's usually a lot friendlier, but touching is kind of... intimate.

Peggy could be quite territorial depending on Steve's reaction to her being there XD

The place I was at was different than that. We couldn't travel to different worlds. We were caught in dreams. It...wasn't as pleasant as it might seem. [Shaking off memories, she gives him a wry smile.] We'll make sure you get back before they become concerned.

[If she hadn't seen so many wonders, Aoife might have her off balance, but she also isn't surprised by some of this.] It's good to see you too. From the first time we met, I always knew Steve had a good soul.

The game I'm in, people sometimes get pulled out of their world and into another, and that world brings our souls out of our bodies for some reason. It's unpleasant when it first happens, but once you recover you have a friend for life.

They're any kind of animal from your world, as far as I know, although they're mostly kinds that can travel with you without too much difficulty, so I haven't met anyone with a fish dæmon yet.
