Oh man, that report on the new elasmosaur species is amazing! How it's got the longest known neck-and-total-body length among similar plesiosaurs, heck even among other vertebrate mammals, period! And did you SEE where the report mentioned they could actually tell it had been scavenged after death? This is an incredible discovery!

Elasmosaur. [Chuckles a bit.] It's a kind of plesiosaur. [He presses a button on the glove and the little device there projects a screen now, showing CG footage of a swimming plesiosaur.] A lot of people think they're underwater dinosaurs, but that couldn't be further from the truth. And the one they just discovered, Albertonectes, looks to have had the longest neck of ANY known animal.
