You are of Jotunnheim? I thought you might be raised Frost Giant, since you wear the skin so well, but now I think not. Of Asgard and cast out? What happened to you?

[ He will not hate you; he will not hurt you, he will not cast you away. Loki is the only one who can truly know another Loki's heart. ]

I am of Jotunheim. I wish now that it was so from the beginning, that the All Father left me there. I do not feel I would have died that night.

It has taken much adjustment, but I would have it no other way.

[ You should have seen him when he'd found out, Laufey. How angry he was at the All Father. Terrifying so. You can't justify that anger if you didn't care, if you didn't love. He knows it, because he feels it too. A wealth of it. ]

I was raised beside Thor, like you. Always in his shadow. No matter the lengths I went, I was never good enough. I did some things, see. To prove to Asgard that Thor did not belong on the throne.

But the aftermath was not what I expected.

And Jotunnheim, has it -- did it welcome you?

[ Oh, how he fears, how he fears. He has a desperate hope of not alone any longer pinned on little things: the way a snowfall has always entranced him, a riot of color in blue-grey-black. The way the winter wind whispered in his ears.

He has always been alone, a ruler's isolation, and while he will never complain, will never object to it, he wants someone to know his heart. ]

It has. [ And conveniently, the mun plays Laufey. This aside. There is a loneliness. To all of them. It's in their nature to sacrifice selfishness for the better of their kind. You would be amazed the things you might find are true. ]

In it's way. It their way, they can be exactly what Odin said they were. But it's often not unjustified by the collective of the people and what's felt best.

I have too many hopes, too many fears. I wonder if I should return to Jotunnheim at all.

[flaerd]

[ It worked, in his world, didn't it? Odin's idea worked. What was his plan for the world he knew, then? Why had things come so undone. ]

Tired, but he still rules. Awaiting the day when I will accept Asgard as mine.

I would visit after his pass and your reign accepted. I cannot foresee any good coming from a wound so deep when the instrument of it's cause still lives.
